Very late to discover this one. Raw and authentic, as Bunker spent plenty of time in jail. 1970s LA at its bleakest. And he was Mr Blue is Reservoir Dogs.

James McArdle has all the best lines. Profound at times, amusingly banal at others. Great entertainment and hard to believe it was written in 1982.

I was so pleased with my @nothing earbuds, I bought a pair for my wife then for my daughter’s birthday. Now we have the full colour range. Lovely to avoid giving even more money to Apple.

The only problem of clearing bookshelf space by donating to @oxfamgb is that I find just as many that I’ve been wanting to read. Marylebone branch has a wonderful selection.

Still focused on The Makoto Murders for my UEA MA submission so I’m looking for books with transgressive protagonists. Thanks to @MoylettLisa for recommending You. I can see why it was such a hit. @CarolineKepnes

Crisp, concise mystery (150 pages) that seems to end too quickly, in a rush of revelations. Good view of 1950s Japan. Originally titled ‘Points and Lines’ in a direct translation of the Japanese.

I remember loving White Merc with Fins so I was happy to come across this is a second-hand bookshop. Feels a bit dated, but that’s maybe because I’m a bit dated myself. @jameshawes2

Blown away by this. Mid-century New York jazz and crime. Read it in a day. Easy to see how ⁦@jakelamar⁩ won the Historical Dagger this year ⁦@The_CWA⁩

Proms are a huge reason to be in London in the summer. Shostakovich symphony #4 tonight. Although a dreary first piece gave me time to daydream about ways you might dispatch the solo violin.

Northumberland was wonderful even before I made it to ⁦@BarterBooks⁩

This was great fun. I wondered if the comedy might wear thin, but I enjoyed it to the end.
