Saab has successfully completed the first flight of Gripen F. The Brazilian Air Force F-39F Gripen FAB4000 took off at 09:40 local time from Saab’s airfield in Linköping and remained airborne for 40 minutes.
The flight was conducted by Saab chief test pilot 🇸🇪 Jakob Högberg and Brazilian Air Force's test pilot Lieutenant Colonel 🇧🇷 Abdon de Rezende Vasconcelos in back seat.

Thailand looks to be accelerating their F-16 replacement program; firming the order for the remaining Gripen-Es. This will give Thailand a Swedish-like mixed fleet of Gripen C/D & E that will network with their Saab 340 AEW aircraft. Next upgrade: GlobalEye?

🇧🇷 Brazilian Air Force reaffirms intention to buy additional F-39 #Gripen.
This was stated in a reply to an inquiry sent by the Ministry of Defense. FAB require 66 in fleet. It was also stated that A-1 AMX should be replaced by Gripen.
