WAY TO FUCKING GO, SWEDEN!
While Putin tries to freeze Ukrainians into submission, Sweden steps up to keep the lights on and families warm.
That’s humanity. That’s leadership.
FUCK PUTIN!
WTF!:🤨🇸🇪Sweden has announced a new civilian support package for Ukraine on €50 million.
It’s mainly focused on helping Ukraine’s power grid this winter.

Trump’s diesel deal with Russia may save Americans pennies, but will cost Ukrainian civilians their lives.

How hard is it is it to believe that Putin spy bots were able to get the Epstein’s files and can guess they actually contain some nasty stuff about Trump, so nasty in fact it makes supporting Russia’s war efforts look tame? Kind of gross!

Rachel Maddow: “Russia is a podunk country. The idea that we work for him is so humiliating and is such an abject failure on the part of Trump in terms of his weakness. I don’t know what Putin has on him, but he works for Putin and it’s an embarrassment to this country”

Trump did exactly what was expected of him.
Congress passed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act. The Act was intended to force the President to step up pressure on Russia: up to 500 per cent tariffs on Russian goods and up to 100 per cent tariffs on the largest buyers of Russian oil and gas. Trump signed it on 18 September. The new restrictions were due to come into force on 18 October.
On the evening of 16 October, Trump formally imposed the measures provided for by the Act and, by the same executive order, immediately suspended them.
“By this order, I am canceling the application of the sanctions, restrictions, and duties provided for in the Graham Act. I have submitted to Congress a formal confirmation that the cancellation of these measures at this time is in the national interest of the United States.”
The suspension will remain in force until Trump himself or his administration decides that the time has come for “further action”. In other words, there is no specific time limit.
Congress had created a mechanism to put pressure on the main source of funding for Russia’s war. Trump exploited a loophole in that very law and disabled this mechanism before it had even come into effect.
A week ago, the administration had already agreed to ease sanctions so that Russian fuel could return to the market and help bring prices down ahead of the mid-term elections. Even six Republican senators, alongside Democrats, demanded that Trump scrap this agreement, warning that it would provide Russia with the funds to continue the war.
The new sanctions were intended to force China, India and other major buyers of Russian energy resources to make a choice: continue to finance Russia or risk losing access to the US market.
Kirill Dmitriev has already described Trump’s decision as a ‘historic moment’ and stated outright that the law could effectively have brought economic cooperation between Russia and the US to a halt.
Trump is the KGB’s most successful project in history.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

NEW: Republican Rep. Don Bacon says he and other GOP lawmakers will block Trump’s agenda in Congress over his support for Putin and abandonment of Ukraine:
“Many of us won’t fund these things knowing he is propping up a dictator’s invasion and throwing an ally under the bus.”

Nearly two years of Donald Trump as the great negotiator between Russia and Ukraine, and what has it produced? Peace? No. A ceasefire? Not really. Mostly a fascinating collection of obscure side deals with Moscow while Russia continues bombing Ukraine.
Then there is the Middle East, which Trump has left looking remarkably like one of his failed property developments: enormously expensive, half-finished, structurally questionable and surrounded by angry people asking who exactly thought this was a good idea.
And then there is this photograph.
Putin showing Trump his lovely little album devoted to Donald Trump. You can almost hear the pages turning. Donald in Helsinki. Donald smiling. Donald looking presidential. Somewhere around page twelve, one suspects, the last independent neuron in American foreign policy packed its suitcase and left.
Since then, Washington has behaved less like the capital of an independent superpower and increasingly like a particularly wealthy client state with terrible taste in management.
Do not be too embarrassed, America. Putin has experience with this sort of thing. Moscow has spent decades cultivating, coercing and controlling governments around its neighbourhood, from earlier governments in Ukraine to Chechnya and various authoritarian dependencies.
The remarkable achievement is getting the United States onto the customer list.
That is quite an upgrade.

Imagine if Europe, in the days after 9/11, had cleared its throat and announced: We have struck a tremendous deal with Osama bin Laden. We have lifted the sanctions on his organization, so he is now free to trade on the open market and bankroll his war against the United States. Bush must step down. The man has no cards.
Has he even looked at his hand?
But no. Europe did nothing of the sort. Europe did not sit down with a mass murderer and come home gushing about what a strong and reasonable fellow he turned out to be.
Europe laced up its boots, flew to Afghanistan, stood shoulder to shoulder with the Americans and hunted that bearded wretch through every godforsaken mountain in the country, because that is what you do when a friend gets hit, and handing the attacker a shopping list while telling the victim to surrender is what you do when you have lost your mind.

The Graham law was passed for a reason: to put pressure on Russia to end its war against Ukraine. We should be using every tool available to bring Putin to the negotiating table, not taking pressure off him. Peace requires leverage.

This is truly a historic moment. President Trump has indefinitely suspended sanctions against Russia that would have been required in the Graham law. He went against the last request of Lindsey Graham, whom he called his friend. And he handed Putin the opportunity to finance the war against Ukrainians, who are fighting for their freedom.
Trump calls this a "national interest." But diesel prices went up because of his war against Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. So waiving sanctions on Russia does not solve that problem. Instead, it creates another one.
Putin cannot win on the battlefield, so he attacks civilians. Russian missiles and drones are destroying homes, hospitals, schools, and churches. According to the UN, just two weeks of October have been among the deadliest for civilians in Ukraine in recent years.
Forty percent of Russia's budget goes to the war. After Trump's latest decisions, Russia will make record profits. The formula is simple: "Money turns into missiles. Missiles turn into civilian deaths."
Trump is not stopping Russia's war against Ukraine. Trump is helping Putin win it.
As a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, I want to address the people of America, regardless of their political views.
Do you really believe that the killing of millions of people and the loss of Ukraine's independence are in your national interest?
If not, what will you do to stop America from financing the genocide that Putin is waging against Ukrainians with Trump's support?
