My granddaughter taught me a song this week: it began something like this: ‘we going on a bear hunt...’ I liked it.

Education depends on a solid secure foundation built in Early Years. This is the time to prioritise EVERY CHILD. Long term funding is essential. @RishiSunak @BorisJohnson #SaveOurNurseries #FundEarlyYears @earlyed_uk @omep @FroebelTrust @NDNAtalk

#SaveOurNurseries #FundEarlyYears @RishiSunak @BorisJohnson Maintained nursery schools need a long-term funding solution now. You told us the early years sector is "crucial", "vital" and "very, very important" so give it the funding it needs to help children thrive post-COVID.

#SaveOurNurseries #FundEarlyYears @RishiSunak maintained nursery schools are the jewel in the crown of education, providing young children with the best start in life. We deserve a long term funding solution!

I've been sharing this amazing picture on Zoom class visits — kids remote learning during a polio outbreak in the 1940s. Schools shut and teachers read lessons on the RADIO. We're facing such challenges today, but as I tell kids, we've faced them in the past and gotten through.

Feel so strongly about this!!! Anybody in a role similar to mine should have a teaching commitment. We’ve got to practice what we preach. I don’t think we should be giving any type of feedback if we don’t teach ourselves.

Hold the phone! Matt Hancock is isolating after being a close contact but school staff and kids should just do a few of lateral flow tests and continue mixing until they test positive after being a close contact🧐 Just throw a LFT at him and get him back to work if it’s so safe🤔

So many exhausted educators out there. Still doing amazing things. Teaching, supporting, covering, battling, inspiring, collaborating, listening, mentoring and giving. Stand tall and be proud ❤️

We’ve announced that supplementary funding for maintained nursery schools of around £60m will continue for 2021-22. We’ve already committed to longer-term funding for these nurseries and will set out our intentions soon.
False reporting on the reality of school life! Unless the rest of that class are isolating!
Dear @BBCNews in your article about public sector pay you use this photo. Please re-consider, as it suggests to anyone not working in the education sector that classes are small and safe. This is NOT the reality in schools right now - almost all classes have 25 or more children.
