🐘💔 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐑𝐄? Elephants possess an extraordinary capacity for 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞—a quality deeply woven into their complex social lives. But perhaps their greatest gift has also become their greatest curse in the hands of humans. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐰𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐰𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲. But tolerance is not happiness. Endurance is not consent. And surviving what we impose upon them does not mean they aren't suffering. 💔 Perhaps it is time we stopped asking how much an elephant can tolerate—and started asking: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐰𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨? 🎥𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇. Perhaps one share will reach someone who has never seen their suffering this way before... someone whose heart will open enough to question what we have normalized.
