Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 has opened its first state-owned rice mill in Bagré. Operated by the state company Faso Agropôles (SOFA), the facility can process 100 tonnes of paddy rice per day.
The project was funded with national resources under the country's agro-pastoral programme.
During the same visit, officials launched mechanized maize harvesting on SOFA farmland using a combine harvester.
The initiative aims to improve local food processing, increase agricultural production, and reduce reliance on imported food.

Slowly but surely, every Nigerian will realize that the so called “Government” is only a cr!minal network set up to exploit you. You are in a matrix where they give you illusion of society but in reality you are on a plantation as Slav£

Saw this on one of my Whatsapp groups.
EKEDC IN DESPERATION
_____
I installed an 18kW solar power system at my property in Lekki Phase 1, relegating EKEDC supply to a backup status. Since then, I have been having more frequent visits from personnel of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), coming to check my prepaid meter.
On one of those visits, the EKEDC team stood watching the meter for motion to indicate consumption. When the meter wasn't moving, they called me to say they suspected I had bypassed the meter. I told them I had enough solar power for my daytime needs and only used their supply as a backup for the dark hours. To prove this to them, I switched on my inverter bypass for about 2 minutes so my consumption would be from EKEDC. They saw the meter rotating normally. They were visibly upset and one of them mumbled something like "This ọ̀gá no wan gree us chop". They left.
Today (19-Oct-2026), three of them came to my premises with a notice of disconnection. The last time I loaded an EKEDC token was in July 2026 and I still had ample units left. When I asked why they would disconnect me, they said the reason was "LOR" (Loss of Revenue). They said my slow consumption indicates a faulty meter and I had to pay them ₦112,606 for loss of revenue.
I told them my meter was not faulty and that they could test it if they wanted. The lady said they were losing revenue and they had to make up for it.
I didn't know whether to laugh or to be angry. I have no intention of paying EKEDC a dime for its loss of revenue due to my taking steps to protect my interest.
But, I share this story for all who are investing in solar power to know that the DisCos are now desperate. They now have "Loss of Revenue" as a reason for your disconnection from their supply. It is simply that they are not making enough money from you.
I am waiting for EKEDC to disconnect me from their grid before I lodge a formal complaint to the regulatory authority.
We are in interesting times in Nigeria!

U go explain tired u this evil power hungry drug lord, when GEJ remove the subsidy back then have you forget your reaction? but now you’re saving Nigerians, may God punish you for all this your lies Bola.
@officialABAT you’re a cancer to the Nigerians Tinubu must go.
Private sales buyers have cashed out from one particular stocks like that.. while p00r Nigerians stay hyped about it
Yesterday the NGX lost ₦1.47 trillion in a single session.
ASI closed −0.91% at 245,278.34.
Banking and industrial stocks (especially Dangote Cement) led the selling.
If you own Dangcem and UBA at the same time, sorrows, prayers
But seriously, remember, Mr market can be extra-excited some days and call out outrageous prices, while on some other days, it can be in a low mood, and request dirt-cheap prices. It’s all part of market cycles
If you own any of the declining stocks, you need to ask your self
-Did anything materially change in the quality of those businesses?
-Is your original thesis intact?
If no to both of the above, then no need to panic sell (unless you need your money urgently, but then if you do, you would have broken one of the tenets of retail investing - always have an emergency fund).
You may even want to consider naira-cost-averaging
But remember, it should ideally be with money that there is no short-term need for (6 months to a year)
Stay jiggly guys
NFA, DYOR
Point of correction 🫵🏼 dangote refinery is not a local refinery.. any refinery that buys crude oil at international prices is categorised as an “international refinery” or better put “foreign refinery” as regards the people it services.
The people of Nigeria are the ones paying for the crude oil that dangote buys from Nigerian govt and it’s licensed OCs, by being the buyers of the end products. 👉🏼 internationally priced crude oil = internationally priced by-products
The only beneficiaries of these markets are govt officials and their highly favoured middlemen called local billionaire investors
The CBN has done excellently tbh. Fantastic job so far.
Those conscious efforts to realign the then-broken financial markets are paying off. The decision on interest rates too is working. And as shown below, a key consideration of Deutsche Bank is the favourable carry on the Naira.
When you do the right things, the market will align as appropriate. It is about the policies and decisions.
In 2019 through 2020 and 2021, we were in an inflationary environment of 15%, and interest rates were around 6%.
One more thing has also aided the outlook for FX and this one is structural (which means, you may want to look at the Nigerian FX market a little bit more differently from the historical trend). It is about the Dangote Refinery.
Roughly 30% of Nigeria's import bill used to be refined petroleum products. If the data I saw is anything to go by, our local refinery supplied roughly 60%-70% of petroleum needs. That should play some positive role in the demand pressure for FX.
The big elephant in the room, as highlighted below and as I have always consistently complained about, is the "horrible" fiscal state of the economy. However, as long as the CBN maintains its counter-cyclical stance, we can still get our macro stability.

The minimum wage in Burkina Faso is 45,000 CFA franc (XOF), about ₦102,500 per month.
To those still defending the Bold Reforms:
1 West African CFA franc (XOF) in Burkina Faso is approximately ₦2.28 to ₦2.40 Nigerian Naira, depending on daily market fluctuations.
If you have 100,000 CFA franc (XOF) right now, you have approximately ₦228,000. You use it for cross-border trade & travel with neighboring CFA-zone countries (especially Benin & Niger).
You need the CFA to buy cars from Cotonou.
Under Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso saw salary increases, a gold refinery, tractors & support for farmers & local factories. In Nigeria, they are selling GDP, foreign reserves, & bold reforms.
Numbers that only look good on paper. The reality remains that Nigerians are facing high fuel & food prices, & less purchasing power.
OBJ implemented reforms, but he didn’t kill you. Teachers bought cars under his watch. They called it “Gbemu Aremu” after his name.
Gbemu in this case, means “windfall” or cash.
The West African CFA franc even has a higher nominal exchange value than the orphaned naira. Pastor Adeboye’s prayer refused to work.

The cost. Raided payslips, grabbed public land, used the land to get bankloans and additional World Bank IMF loans, gave himself construction contracts. Only a few completed. They're selling them at market rate.

Imagine where Nigeria would be today, if the govt isn’t selling crude oil to its own citizens at international prices, while using a private owned refinery as middleman to rip them off.
The middleman pretends to be the one bearing the cost while uneducated Nigerians hail him but end up buying the products at ridiculous prices seen nowhere else in any oil rich country.
At the end, there’s zero difference between importing and owning a refinery.. matter of fact, we were better off when we solely imported fuel products
Fuel price remains the same in Iran despite being at war with the America, Israel and some Arab nations.. yet Nigeria has added a whopping 669% increase in fuel price despite owning one of world’s largest oil refinery and among top countries with most crude oil deposits, but blames it fuel price increase on Iran war.

Now imagine if Nigeria decides to also lay off its colonial masters disguised as financial institutions and oil drilling companies
Exactly how the government want you to live your life
Nobody who is gainfully employed would resort to this… by tinubu standard and So called global standard, they say if you work for just one hour per week you are employed, which means even if it’s 200 naira you get paid for that one hour labor, the government regards you as employed and sees no reason to help you further
If you don’t join hands redefine governance in your country, you will kpai in abject p0verty
