Digital Sun has canceled the public playtest for ReVamp because it fears AI tools could be used to reverse-engineer and clone the game. The first test will now be limited to a small group through Discord, starting October 29, with the public playtest planned for around January. Digital Sun said: “We’ve been concerned by the recent news of games being reverse-engineered, cloned and published before the original is even out.” “Showing games early is how indies get seen and find the fans who keep us going.”

Strongly agree with this, the specific approach to the power fantasy of growth in games that Metroidvanias took more often pre-Hollow Knight is one of the main appeals of the subgenre to me, I think many have lost that in chasing a shallow and less unique hunt for pure challenge

the absolute worse design trend hollow knight inspired is indie metroidvanias never ever letting you feel "overpowered" or fully outscale the enemies when that's supposed to be a core appeal of IGAvanias and 2d metroid

What really gets me is the fact you can't avoid this with the Japanese dub. For some reason, they recast the voice of Ralph (Yasunori Masutani) with Ryōtarō Okiayu??? Aka the voice of ALUCARD, JUST because he was Ralph (called Trevor here) in the show.

One thing I hate is every time I voice my opinion on Mathias' VAs, like Rye and Freeman and Seitz, and how I would rather have had one of them return over McTavish, someone has to come in to reply that he was great in the show or that the voices weren't the problem with the show.

Galera, olhem a INCRÍVEL, ENORME e VARIADA quantidade de monstros que Belmont's Curse tem. Eu to em choque. Nenhum castlevania ou metroidvania teve um bestiário tão grande e fodão como esse. Chorem SOTN e Hollow Knight, o bestiário de vocês nunca será como Belmont's Curse.
