Fun Flea Market pickup today. I remember using a hand scanner a friend owned a long while back - it wasn’t great but got the job done cheap. This one seemed pretty complete for $6. Might be fun to at least try to set it up and test on an old pc.
Pretty good Flea Market day - Picked up a MSI Nvidia 1060 3GB card for $5, no idea if it works but worth rolling the dice. Even better - these 2x 32GB and 2x 8GB SD cards for $6! Nice there are still some deals out there...
I didn't buy or ask prices but saw this neat old TRS-80 data recorder and Dragon Naturally Speaking 6 boxed software. I was tempted on the data recorder but I have some others that work. Fun to see, though. :)
Flea Market Friday - saw a Star Trek TNG themed CRT mask thing. The funny part is on the back is an ad to collect all the various desk accessories to just completely nerd out your computer desk. :) Didn't ask price on the mask, just fun to see.
On the subject of my card collections, Dinosaurs Attack is probably my favorite. I believe it's meant to be a spoof on the Mars Attacks cards and they did not pull punches on the gory art, lol. The backs have neat themes to tell the story. It's a weird and wacky set to be sure.
You know, 13 years ago @cinemassacre made a video on the Tiger handheld games as being the bottom of the barrel gaming but I do think there's one step below that. Topps released a set of Nintendo cards in 1989 with scratch-off game cards...
Flea Market Friday time - saw this pair of iomega external drives. The Apple sticker could be a sign of backups of Macintosh files which was enough to ask, but $20 each with no PSUs, pass. Grabbed four Atari 5200 games, Amidar, & manuals for a total of $10 since I have the 5200.
Little something for Flea Market Friday - This Sony monitor caught my eye this morning due to not recognizing the model name and all the buttons, then on the back it had BNC connectors. Turns out it is a flat panel PVM. Vendor wanted $10, so why not satisfy curiosity? :) ...
In either case, gave the Sony PVM a quick test at home - maybe not the best device for trying it out but I just wanted to know if it worked at all. Pretty cool so far! I'll have to tinker with it more later and try some consoles on it.
Neat thing to see at the flea today - old Panasonic Toughbook. Sadly screen had something going on, looked like an inner layer peeling up - not sure if delaminating or just another protective layer. No PSU either. Lady wanted $20 then $15, tempting but not sure about that screen.
Managed to find a weekend community sale and for better or worse, decided to take this Atari 5200 home for $5. It’s in rough shape but at least the later model with the power plug on the console. Came with Q*bert as well.
Flea Market Friday time - still not seeing much lately. Passed on some laptops today. One was an IBM T43, good laptop but $20 with no psu - meh. The other was a Vista era Compaq (that I have one of) and this HP, again no psu with either. Didn't ask prices...
I did see this @lazygamereviews worthy Panasonic VHS player/recorder with the woodgrain. Nothing I personally need but fun to see. -Last- Friday, I also saw this little RCA TV, guy wanted $10, then $5 but no plug. It was tempting.
Flea Market Friday time - just one pickup today. Found this odd Maxis PC title "Unnatural Selection" for $3. I don't think I've typically seen games list a 386 as starting specs. It'll be fun to check out. The Rebel Assault II was also $3 but no game, just box and some papers.
Found a little something for Flea Market Friday - this MSI socket 939 mainboard was in a bin with a CPU for $5. Digging around some more, I found the CPU box with the cooler and fan still inside for another $3. It'll be fun to put in a case and tinker with :)
Glad I found the cooler before the scrappers. I'm sure some would happily buy it just for the copper. The MSI board looks in great shape, probably due to being stored in the box. Didn't get the proper I/O shield but there were some other little bits along with the manuals..
