From the very start of Nyra, I wanted to give players the option not only to kill but also to save the keepers. Removing their curse will free them.
For me making the game I get to make fun moments like this. (these are special moments so I wont share many)
The Halo/Activation news has me reminiscing about my time on Halo 5 and Halo infinite. The animation team was top tier both their work and to work with. Sad to see friends loose their jobs.
If you like the anim and wonder what I’m up to now I’ve gone solo dev and making my own games. This is what I’m working on now

Trick I use to get better screenshots faster.
As a solo dev time is precious. Simple little things like this geve me more time for the important game work
A hidden element of an in-game camera is how we prevent collision without the player noticing! Here is a brief look into a few of the ways I prevent this in my game.
comment if you have any specific questions about this!
Ocarina of Time's remake reveal, gave me a ton of nostalgia and reminded me of why I fell in love with games. The original was so influential to me I became an animator and now make my own games.
It's important to feel the connect between adventure companions and so I get to work on some fun and silly little features!
Nyra and Rama now look at each other and i have them able to get super close and even push each other around a bit.
You know that massive tree fantasy trope. Its one of my favorite nods to the familiar yet otherworldly-ness of a fantasy setting. My game Nyra and the Garden of Moros will have one, this is the start.
Update to the FX I was working on last week.
No more fire, now we have the green to match the curse on the Keepers along with some black and purple mixed it. Thanks for all the great feedback!

The journey is the goal. I make games because I love making things, I love to learn and to improve. Keep track of your progress so you can look back to where you have been.

Trying our some FX for when the curse on your arm is active. I want something dramatic. The color is reading fire which is not really what's happening, so will keep experimenting there.
Would love to hear first impressions especially late in the clip when you can see the scale.
Heard the Big Dawgs + Pacific Rim remix last night and thought it would make a fun edit for Nyra and the Garden of Moros.
Remember to have fun making your games!
How do we fill our worlds with detail?
Build tools to make our lives easier! Pre-designing a Biome's look, how it interacts with other systems lets me drop one into an area and in second have a forest This is a must for the open world of Nyra and the Garden of Moros
Fear not dear reader progress continues!
Trees finally gave a texture and so some color. They were nothing but solid grey before. What do you think? Seems to bring a surprising amount of life to the forest.
A bad camera can take you out of a game so fast, so I am putting a ton of work into mine. The goal is a player could beat the game without ever needing to touch the camera's controls. This is just a camera (things) montage. Are you interested in how this stuff works?

Be sure to give Nyra a wishlist! Its going to be a fun journey!
