*despite* DVT prophylaxis in severe COVID, 27% developed DVT/PE and 4% developed arterial thrombosis (#'s likely *low* 2/2 lack of systematic screening). obviously not an RCT, but compelling evidence that standard care fails these patients. (article: bit.ly/2RLVKG5)

first meaningful RCT on hydroxychloroquine - no effect on viral clearance (despite huge doses) - no effect on symptomatic improvement - increased side effects - for now, use of hydroxychloroquine should probably be limited to RCTs (blog bit.ly/2yf10LF)

The stories are real. This is a horrible disease pushing our department and our residents to their physical and emotional limits. Young, old, healthy, unhealthy. Worrying if there are enough ventilators for the 30 year old ED just intubated is another level of anxiety.

2. Unclear screening criteria by customs officials. Many groups with the same exact itinerary (layovers in Europe, Hx of travel to India) were split. Some passengers went straight through customs, some were asked for further screening #COVID19 @CBP @CDCgov @HealthNYGov
