Reading SB 12, the supposedly “reasonable” version of the drag show bill.
Y’all, this bill would ban a play version of McClintock, the John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara movie fr 1963. Not to mention any dance routines with contact between the dancers.

Thank you, @Christian4Texas.
Bills like #SB14 are not about following the science. They're about following the agenda of fringe anti-trans groups.

Hundreds of Texans came to the State Capitol today to oppose a bill banning essential health care for trans youth — and were met with violence and arrests.
We and our partners are deeply disturbed.
These attacks on trans youth and the many Texans who support them must stop.

ALT The following statement can be attributed to the All In For Equality coalition: "We are deeply disturbed by and closely monitoring what has happened at the Texas Capitol. We witnessed violence and arrests today against Texans, many of whom are queer and transgender and who would be harmed directly by this bill. Hundreds of people came to the Capitol to express their concerns about a bill that would ban life-saving healthcare for transgender youth. That bill was halted today based on a procedural point of order, but Texas lawmakers are still threatening to advance it. We urge them to show compassion to transgender youth and will hold them to account to protect the freedoms of all Texans."
