Fyre Festival LA-style: TL/DR What happens when you put a bunch of failed upwards do-nothings in charge of a huge event that would require working through all of LA's impediments to getting anything done? lamaterial.com/p/la-jazz-fes…
"Organizers failed to lay basic groundwork... – at San Marino, CA
...for the festival, such as obtaining police permits for myriad events....months passed with no applications filed — notwithstanding repeated reminders from the city....On July 28, organizers finally submitted their applications. But they were incomplete — woefully so. They ... – at San Marino, CA
failed to include proof of insurance, venue and security contracts and other documentation, such as copies of their liquor licenses if they planned to serve alcohol. Several of the submitted forms were blank, save for signatures, according to LAPD correspondence..." L.A. Material – at San Marino, CA

A great way to see Van Gogh's "Starry Night" is to stare at the center of the spiral for 20 seconds and then look at the painting.

RIP #41 💔
M&M's is taking some criticism for this, but I think it's a sweet and cute tribute from his long time sponsor. I still can't believe Kyle Busch won a race last weekend, and just a few days later, there's a video of him racing go-karts with his son. A day later, he passed away at age 41. Life is short. Make every day count. Godspeed, Rowdy.

Australia does not have zero nighttime traffic accidents; 40% of crashes occur at night despite only 25% of driving taking place then. nrspp.org.au/resources/nrsp… bitre.gov.au/sites/default/…

California’s brain dead politics are the problem, not @Chevron
Californians, if you’re hitting the road this holiday weekend, be sure to AVOID Chevron.
Pro tip: unbranded gas comes from the same refineries, storage tanks, and pipelines, and it meets the same state standards to keep your engine running clean, even if it doesn’t have a fancy name like ‘Techron.’
Big Oil is already making billions off Trump’s Iran War; don’t let them rip you off even more by overpaying for the brand name.

Governor Newsom is now calling for Californians to buy gas anywhere but Chevron. What would be much more helpful is if they could buy gas anywhere but California.
