A small plastic bag with badges along with another item was found on Parnell Street, Dublin almost two weeks ago. It was handed into our office yesterday. If this belongs to you please contact us.
Thousands from across Ireland turned out today to support the Garvaghy Road Residents. Well done to all who turned up!
Sinn Féin Poblachtach will continue to support the residents! There will be no orange parade marching down the Garvaghy Road!
Today we remember a stalwart of Irish Republicanism and our former honorary Life Vice-President Joe O’Neill on the 13th anniversary of his passing.
A lifelong Republican and a man of principle who gave a lifetime of dedication to the All-Ireland Republic. He believed that as long as Ireland was partitioned and occupied by the British State there could be no lasting peace.
I nDíl Chuimhne
Today we remember uncompromising Republican and Patron of Sinn Féin Poblachtach Dan Keating who passed away on this day 19 years ago in 2007 at 105 years of age.
I measc Laochra Na nGael go raibh sé.
Sinn Féin Poblachtach are calling on all members and supporters to make an effort to attend the Solidarity Rally in support of the Garvaghy Road Residents this Saturday 3pm on the Garvaghy Road.
Cork: Drop The Property Tax
The Mac Curtain/Mac Suibhne Cumann Corcaigh Sinn Féin Poblachtach are disgusted that Cork City Council has voted to raise the Local Property Tax in the city to 15% above the baseline rate set by the Free State government.
People are already struggling with the cost of living. Motor and home fuel, food, electricity, clothing and other essentials have all gone up, and families are finding it harder every month to make ends meet.
Pensioners will feel this the most. Many live in older homes that carry a high valuation because of where they are, but are in poor condition with little insulation. They already struggle to heat those homes on a meagre pension, and now they face a bigger property tax bill on top of it.
Some will say this is only a small increase, but that is not the point. Property tax keeps going up and there is no sign of it coming down. If this carries on, Cork could end up like other cities around the world, where property taxes are so high that people are forced to sell homes they have lived in all their lives.
The council's chief executive, Valerie O'Sullivan, proposed an even bigger increase of 20%. She is an unelected official, never chosen by the people of Cork, yet she wanted families and pensioners to pay more. She should hang her head in shame. She has also said she may come back for more next year, which is exactly why we say property tax only ever goes up.
Look at what has been done in Mahon. €6m was spent on cycle lanes that the community did not want, and residents were ignored when they objected. In a recent post on Facebook Ringmahon stores say they warned the council's engineer about the loss of parking and were told they would be busier from everyone cycling past the shop. Two people used the lanes in the 24 hours preceding that post, both on e-scooters. That is how out of touch the council is with reality. Local businesses are losing footfall and revenue, and residents parking has been taken away too. This money did not come from the council's budget, but it is still the taxpayer’s money. Now the same is planned for Fairhill and Farranree at an estimated cost of €7m. Residents are protesting, but their concerns are falling on deaf ears. The Free State government can always find millions for projects nobody asked for, while the working people foot the bill. It is time they got their priorities right.
We are calling on Cork City Council to reduce this tax and give families a break. Homeowners and pensioners are already paying enough. We are also asking everyone in Cork to contact their local councillor and ask them how they voted, and why they thought this was fair.

Recent comments by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham that a referendum on Irish Unity is “off the table” will come as no surprise to Irish Republicans.
Twenty-eight years have passed since the signing of the Stormont Agreement (Good Friday Agreement), since then Provisional Sinn Féin have been promising the nationalist population a Border Poll. Every year it’s “only a matter of time” McGuinness, Adams, Mary Lou and O’Neill have repeated it on loop and their supporters have swallowed every word.
The Stormont Agreement does not promise a referendum on Irish Unity, it only establishes a mechanism by which one can be called by the British Secretary of State. That leaves the decision solely with the British government, no different from the position before the Stormont Agreement. That is a fact. The British government is under no obligation to call a referendum no matter the circumstances.
Make no mistake: the Stormont Agreement has done nothing but copper-fasten the partition of our country. In a recent Irish Times article on “dissident” Irish republicans, Dr. Johnny Byrne, senior lecturer in criminology at Ulster University, said “the trajectory toward normalisation only runs in one direction.” Normalising the British occupation of Ireland was, and still is, the central purpose of the Stormont Agreement, to extinguish the flame of Irish republicanism and secure permanent acceptance of the status quo.
Burnham’s comments will no doubt embarrass the leadership of Provisional Sinn Féin. It’s likely they’ll “pull out” of Stormont to save face with supporters, but what will that achieve? We all witnessed how well that went in 2017 when they did not return until 2020.
The Stormont Agreement has failed as we always said it would. We’d like to ask our former comrades in Provisional Sinn Féin what’s their alternative? They have nothing to offer and they should leave the stage.
“Leave it to those who are willing”
Sinn Féin Poblachtach reiterates our position that a truly democratic referendum is impossible while Ireland stays divided and part of it remains under foreign occupation. We demand a British declaration of intent to withdraw from Ireland! To quote Pádraig Pearse “Ireland unfree shall never be at peace”
Sinn Féin Poblachtach proposes Éire Nua’s four-province federal solution for open discussion. Unionists themselves considered this model back in the 1970s as a possible outcome of British withdrawal. It is a fair, realistic framework for governance that, by addressing centuries of injustice, would provide the strongest foundation for lasting peace in Ireland.

Former POW and Border Campaign Veteran Séamus Ó'Líonacháin is campaigning to lift the excommunication of all Irish men and women who were excommunicated from the Catholic Church since 1169 for opposing the British occupation of Ireland. We would ask that all Irish people and supporters across the world support this campaign and write a letter to the Pope requesting that the excommunication of Irish men and women, including IRA Volunteers and the Fenians be lifted and a formal apology from the Pope be issued.
As Séamus said the excommunications go back hundreds of years. They became more prevalent during the time of the Fenians in the 1860s where the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church threatened excommunication against those who organised against the Crown. In some cases those threats were followed through.
During the Civil War, Volunteers of the Irish Republican Army who remained faithful to the All Ireland Republic and refused to accept partition or swear an oath to a foreign king were told they were guilty of murder and subject to excommunication. Bishop Daniel Cohalan in Cork excommunicated every IRA volunteer in the diocese. Among them was Séamus’s father. The majority if not all were devout Catholics who went to their graves having not received absolution. None of those who carried out atrocities on behalf of the Free State were ever excommunicated, including those who tied nine Irish Republicans to a landmine in Ballyseedy, detonating it and killing eight.
When the next generation began the Border Campaign, volunteers who went on active service and were captured were excommunicated, among them Séamus Ó'Líonacháin. Many families now had two generations who had been excommunicated from the church.
The Church only ever seemed to look one way. Hundreds of Irish Catholic priests went off as chaplains with the British Army in both World Wars, ministering to men fighting under the same Crown that partitioned this country. None of them were excommunicated. Plenty came home decorated, some even got titles. No bishop ever said wearing a British Army uniform was a problem for a Catholic. It was only when Irish men fought for their own country that the Church suddenly found a problem with it.
There has been no acknowledgment that these were men and women who fought for Irish freedom, not murderers. The excommunications are still there, never lifted, and the Church has never had to answer for it. We call on the Pope to lift excommunications and issue an apology the men and women who fought for Irish freedom throughout the generations.
To support the campaign please write to.

Sinn Féin Poblachtach - the unbroken line of continuity with the All-Ireland Republic. Join now and play your part!
Republican SINN FÉIN Poblachtach has direct and unbroken continuity with the original Sinn Féin organisation founded in 1905.
In 1969 following the reformist / revolutionary split in the organisation Sinn Féin re-organised as Provisional Sinn Féin and in doing so upheld the Revolutionary Republican Constitution loyal to the All Ireland Republic Proclaimed in 1916.
In 1986 Provisional Sinn Féin under the new leadership of Gerry Adams & Martin McGuinness manipulated members and supporters to take seats in the British imposed counter-revolutionary parliament Leinster House in the 26 counties.
This decision caused a split in the Republican Movement and in (Provisional) Sinn Féin resulting in a walk-out at the 1986 Ard Fheis.
Revolutionary Republicans re-organised once again out of that walkout.
Of the 20 leading members who re-organised as Provisional Sinn Féin in 1969. 10 were still active in 1986. Out of that 10, 9 helped in the re-organization of Republican SINN FÉIN Poblachtach.
Entering Leinster House as predicted led to a larger erosion of Republican principles, to the acceptance of entering Stormont and an acceptance of British Partition.
Today Provisional Sinn Féin implement British rule in the occupied six counties of North East Ireland, they have completely abandoned all Irish Republican principles.
We continue to uphold the right of the Irish people to oppose the British occupation of Ireland using any level of controlled and discipline force.
Never will we accept foreign rule over the historic Irish nation.
As a result we are dealing with state sponsored censorship and are continually demonized in an overwhelmingly pro-British/EU media.
Despite this a committed membership has seen our organization thrive in areas where the Republican message has been presented to the people.

I measc laochra na nGael
Today marks 117 years since Na Fianna Éireann was founded on August 16th 1909 at a meeting in a hall at 34 Lower Camden Street, Dublin.
117 years on and Na Fianna Éireann remain active today. Below is a piece from Na Fianna.
Na Fianna was founded in 1909 and our object was stated in our constitution to be the re-establishment of Ireland’s Independence. Today our object remains the same. The means laid down in the constitution for enabling Na Fianna to carry out our primary objective is stated as follows – ”Training the youth of Ireland mentally and physically by teaching scouting and other exercises, Irish history and the Irish language.” Above all Na Fianna is an educational organization, an organization that teaches and trains Irish boys to work for Irish Independence.
Since our founding in 1909 Na Fianna have been involved in a number of Revolutionary activities including the Howth gun-running of 1914, the Rising in 1916, the establishment of the First All-Ireland Dail Eireann in 1918, the tan-war and the civil-war and also the long war in the Occupied Six-Counties which kicked off in the early 1970’s.
We remain pledged to the First and Second All-Ireland Dáil Éireann and totally reject Leinster House and Stormont, partitioned states established by the British government. Our aim is to completely cut the links with the British Crown and the EU and to re-establish the true All-Ireland Dáil.
We will continue the fight until that day comes.
