Stress testing a new animation system for my 3d shader tool (which is now our de facto internal custom design tool @Replikit_ai) I recreated the flat Cowrywise style to see if the engine could handle the 2D/3D hybrid look in real-time while animating. It’s currently running on a custom stylised shader that reacts to lighting but keeps the geometry looking illustrative. Still experimental and not yet available in beta, but the motion system is coming alive!! Goal is to be able to create, animate and embed 3d assets and scenes in web experiences or other use cases directly from here. There’s a real challenge in solving design automation for on-brand, professionally designed content. Even with most teams opting for template libraries and brand design systems, it still doesn’t scale cos marketers cannot use design softwares like brand designers can and brand designers are always overwhelmed, having to balance creating brand-forward work or focusing on day to day content creation. To give an idea of the kind of scale I’m talking about; A cross-regional campaign for a large company can easily require up to 20,000+ different visual and text-based content. That scale is simply too large for most design and marketing teams to handle without proper design automation systems in place. I’m solving this problem from a design pov by building a design tool focused on the handoff process between brand designers and marketing teams with design automation features baked in from the start. Designers won’t just be designing individual assets, they will be designing scalable systems and won’t ever have to worry about their system breaking at scale and marketing teams will finally have the ability to create on-brand, professionally designed content at scale.
