We won't allow International #RepairDay (or any Repair Week) to be coopted by the very companies who sell unrepairable products.
Replying to @RestartProject
As co-creators of International #RepairDay, we were excited about the creation of London Repair Week a couple of years ago to coincide.
We absolutely need a London Repair Week, but one with integrity. It needs financial support from the Mayor and the public sector.
Our data used to keep the pressure on the EU for better printers
Printers are the archetype of #PrematureObsolescence.
Yet, instead of regulating to make them more repairable & longer lasting, @EU_Commission is delaying & risks agreeing to a weak industry agreement 🖨️
We need more ✊ #LongLiveThePrinter

Exactly this. Also because some brands have flagship repairable products but also catalogs full of unrepairable products.
We find trends by product category more interesting

Obviously, be careful of reading too much into this chart. A device could be more likely to be repaired if it's more fixable, but it could also be because it's more likely to break

Ohh, @RepairData is excellent if you're interested in reparability. We're poking through the data now. Here, for example, are the top ten brands in terms of percent of successful repairs at Repair Cafe events:
Happy #OpenDataDay! Did you know that we collect and share open data on the repairs that we do in communities around the world? We just released ~55,000 records of the devices we've tried to fix at community repair events, and whether we could fix them

To those celebrating #OpenDataDay, keep an eye out for a new citizen science activity from @restartproject in April. They'll be diving into our data on vacuum repairs - and you can help, even by volunteering only a couple of minutes!
Want to contribute repair data?
If you're with a community repair organisation (e.g. you organise Repair Cafes or similar events), we invite you to share your data with us, the Open Repair Alliance.

We updated our Open Repair Data Standard (ORDS).
ORDS is what helps us pool our data together into one big #opendata set.
In v0.3 we added product ages - a key piece of policy info. Tells us how long people are willing to repair a product
