Yesterday we launched the campaign to get rid of flavored tobacco products in Washington State!
It was great to hear from bill sponsor @RepReevesWA, Tacoma NAACP's Jonathan Johnson, youth advocates and community members supporting this life-saving policy.

I’m evidence of that promise & its future. Accountability in how we recount history of the founding of our country is the most patriotic thing I can offer as an American. So, when we “celebrate” 250 years, we recognize our WHOLE history, not just the “yt-washed” parts.
If @RepReevesWA cannot see the promise of the US, she shouldn't be representing Americans. Even abolitionist & former slave Frederick Douglas referred to the Constitution as a "glorious liberty document." @washdems = nihilism. @LtGovDennyHeck

Great visit from community health advocates to promote youth access to mental health supports! Big thx to these leaders for joining me to fight for our kids & their future! @uwpediatrics

Joined @CityofPacificWA in honoring our #veterans w/memorial dedication; joined by @WaTreasurer #MikeP, Congressman @RepAdamSmith, and my kids as we pay tribute to those who’ve served our country & our community. #NeverForget #VeteransDay2023 #militaryfamily – at Pacific, WA
Humbled to join #CityofAlgona in honoring Mayor David Hill for his leadership by naming this wetland in his name. Thx to @SenClaireWilson for partnership in securing $600k in Capitol budget to protect & preserve this land on behalf of our neighbors!
Such an amazing experience today with @federalwayhigh & the #LatinosUnidos leaders in celebration of #HispanicHeritageMonth2023! These students are engaged & care deeply about our future! Proud to be fighting for a future that includes us all! – at Federal Way, WA
Proud to join the @federalwayhigh Latinx Club in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! Thanks for inviting me to share my story as a Afro-Latina elected official & the work I am doing to fight for a future that includes us all! #hispanicheritagemonth #fwps – at Federal Way, WA
I'm proud to champion #childcare access & affordability in #waleg. Fair Start for Kids was solid win, but we must get to #universalchildcare if we are to ensure economic recovery & opportunity for all in WA. I will continue to push us in that direction!

Short-term support for #childcare has hit a cliff. We need economic & educational recovery that leaves no 1️⃣ behind, especially our kiddos. #childcare4all will help get us there. @SEIU925 @ccac_wa @awbinstitute @childcarewa @ChildAllianceWA

Spending the afternoon in “listening mode” to youth voice with experience in foster care and/or homelessness on amazing opportunities for change to a system not working for everyone. Thanks to @Mb_society for hosting this important conversation! #ListenMore #LovingAwareness
Huge thanks to @NewDEALLeaders & Ryan for hosting me. I am passionate about public service & Gov’t as a force for good. I’m committed to promoting political institutions as places that need to work better for women & POCs so our democracy works best for us all! – at Federal Way, WA
#NewDEALer @RepReevesWA's childhood in the foster care system, her experiences with homelessness, and her faith in public school teachers make her an impassioned champion for all Washingtonians🌲Listen to her full story on #AnHonorableProfession: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
We are the first state in the country to take this on, we won’t be the last. I am proud of the young folks leading this charge to protect our kids’ privacy & put sideboards around #sharenting for future generations in the glare of social media spotlights.

I’m fighting for the privacy rights of our children in HB 1627.
“The bill aims to reset rules of road for parents who profit off of pictures & video of their children through branded content.”

The next generation deserves to have their privacy protected. Thanks to Chris McCarty, of Quit Clicking Kids, for bringing this issue forward & I look forward to partnering with my colleagues in the #waleg to get this passed! @WAHouseDems @WaHouseGOP
