Our community strongly rejects ICE moving into the Hudson Valley.
It’s shameful, un-American, and the exact opposite of everything we stand for.
When Trump tried to build a facility in Chester, we rallied with one voice to stop it – and we’re ready to do the same thing again.
The Congressional App Challenge gives young people across the Hudson Valley a chance to build and demonstrate their entrepreneurial spirit for the benefit of the community we love.
Submissions are due 10/26 – details below!
I was honored to join Casa Comunitaria de Recursos & Sun River Health to celebrate the new Children's Closet – an incredible resource making sure families in our community have the clothes & resources they need.
Come check it out at the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie!
Representing my alma mater @WestPoint_USMA in Congress is one of the best parts of this incredible job.
Extra special to spend some time with NY-18 cadets I nominated for the Academy when I was there for Board of Visitors last week!
Throughout the second Trump Administration, the President has waged targeted political attacks on New York.
When he cut this counterterrorism funding, New Yorkers across the state fought back & won.
Now, a year later, we’re demanding Trump deliver the rest of what’s rightly ours.
As Trump’s war with Iran continues, Americans want and deserve to feel safe. Now is the absolute last time to be cutting security funding.
The need is especially stark following the grim 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks – the tragedy that changed our state forever and inspired these vital preparedness programs in the first place.
Trump’s DHS has an obligation to release these funds and protect New Yorkers.

It was great to join the Middletown Fire Department for their annual firehouse inspection day last week!
Always so impressed by our local firehouses & the exceptional firefighters hard at work everyday to keep our communities safe.
Happy Birthday, @USNavy!
As the largest, most powerful naval fleet & 2nd largest air force in the world, the Navy has protected American freedom around the globe for 251 years.
Couldn’t say Go Army, Beat Navy without you!
The Hudson Valley is fighting back against Trump’s immigration overreach. We won't stand by and let ICE terrorize our neighbors & make us all less safe.
Proud to work alongside an amazing coalition of local activists fighting for Liberty & Justice for ALL.
The Hudson is more than a river – it’s the lifeblood and the heartbeat of our community.
For far too long, big corporations have polluted our drinking water and put our precious River at risk in pursuit of profits.
But not anymore.
On Friday, we celebrated the years of effort by every single member of our Hudson Valley community.
I especially want to thank my partners at Riverkeeper and Scenic Hudson for their tireless work and commitment to protecting the Hudson.
Never again will big corporations be able to turn our River into a parking lot for dangerous barges, polluting the drinking water for 100,000 of our neighbors.
This victory proves that when the Hudson Valley stands up with one voice to demand change, we can accomplish anything.

Across New York State, we’re united in putting our community ahead of corporate profits.
From our town boards, to the Governor’s nation-leading moratorium, to urgently needed federal action, we’re fighting to ensure that we, the people, get a seat at the table.
New Yorkers are worried about what massive data centers could mean for their utility bills, their communities, and the reliability of our energy grid.
I hear those concerns, and I’m not going to sit back and wait for problems to happen.
I’m proud to stand with @AOC and @RepPatRyanNY to act now.
My job isn’t to protect billion-dollar AI companies. It’s to protect New Yorkers.
Trump & spineless rubber-stamp Republicans in Congress cut $1 trillion from your health care to fund a tax cut for billionaires.
It’s straight-up un-American.
On behalf of the 450,000 New Yorkers – and 15,000 #NY18 neighbors – kicked off their insurance, we’re fighting back.
I’m incredibly proud to join our entire state Democratic delegation in introducing this legislation to reverse the cuts, restore your coverage, and send a clear message to Trump: Don’t mess with New York.

On Monday, I hosted local restaurant owners for a roundtable on how corporate consolidation is raising costs in the Hudson Valley.
The FTC must protect the independent restaurants that make our community special, & block the proposed $29.1 billion Sysco-Restaurant Depot merger.
Keeping prices competitive is essential to the success of these restaurants, which is why we’re going to fight with everything we’ve got to make sure the FTC blocks this harmful deal and protects the independent businesses that keep our Hudson Valley communities thriving.
Hudson Valley restaurants are part of what makes our community so special. We should be making it easier, not harder, for them to succeed.

Today, three years after the October 7th terrorist attack, we mourn the thousands of innocent lives lost. We mourn for children who lost their parents, for parents who lost their children, and for the countless families still reeling from unimaginable loss.
We also condemn the vile antisemitism that took hold across the country and world immediately following – at the precise moment we should have been most united.
I want to take a moment to remember those our Hudson Valley community lost that day.
Judih and Gadi Haggai were not combatants or soldiers, but a school teacher and a musician. Ariel and Kfir Bibas were not prisoners of war, but children, babies, ripped away from their home and taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. They would be 3 and 7 years old today. Instead, their memories are being honored by the Ariel and Kfir Bibas Playroom at the Chabad of Ulster County.
Today, on the anniversary of the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, I join the Hudson Valley and the entire world in remembering those we have lost. We must also recommit to fighting the rising scourge of antisemitism in all its forms, wherever and whenever we see it. Most of all, we must keep pushing relentlessly for a just and lasting peace.
We cannot become numb to this conflict – nor to the hate that has followed. Too much and too many have been lost already.
May this horrific anniversary of suffering and grief strengthen our resolve for hope and peace.
