House Republicans’ #1 priority bill has just PASSED. Billions of taxpayer dollars were lost to fraud while Democrats controlled state government. That was not bad luck. It was years of ignored warnings, weak oversight, and no real accountability. Today, the House passed the Office of Inspector General bill to bring independent oversight, protect taxpayer dollars, and help make sure this never happens again.

Literacy has long been a powerful tool in the pursuit of freedom. On Juneteenth, we honor those who fought for justice and the right to learn while reaffirming our commitment to advancing literacy for all through high-quality, evidence-aligned instruction.

There are no Democrats or Republicans today, only fellow Minnesotans. This is a time for grace, mourning, and unity. The person responsible for these acts of violence is the source of our anger and frustration - not one another. Be kind to your neighbors, we’re in this together.

For perspective - the bonding bill being proposed for projects ALL ACROSS Minnesota is $50 Million LESS than the single government building renovation that one party is forcing taxpayers to fund. Remember that as taxes & fees increase while truly necessary priorities go unfunded.

This is what fighting looks like. Not screaming as loud as you can. Not taking your ball and going home. Showing up to work and running the next play after the refs make a bad call.
Rep. Harry Niska says Secretary of State Steve Simon prevented MN House Republicans from bringing up a motion to compel the attendance of absent Democrats. The state constitution allows a number smaller than a quorum to "compel the attendance of absent members in the manner and under the penalties it may provide.”

Unfortunately our state Supreme Court has decided to allow the DFL minority to hold our state legislature hostage, abandoning the wise view of the Constitutional framers. Now we have to wait and see if the Democrats truly intend to wait until March to show up for work, and what the consequences will be.

The court has decided that a minority can indefinitely shut down the legislature under several potential circumstances. Fascinating. Regardless, all 67 Republicans have been showing up to work for you since 1/14, and all 66 Democrats have not. Their Power > Serving You

They’re just making stuff up. Is “imminent vacancy” defined in law? I didn’t find it under……vacancies. As soon as someone announces they’re not running again, or has a health issue, or breaks into a basement, can the Governor declare an “imminent vacancy” & special election?
Asked MNSOS how there could be a special called for a seat that isn't yet vacant. #mnleg A: "Mr. Johnson’s letter stating that he would not take office is sufficient for the purposes of indicating an imminent vacancy and thus making preparations to fill the seat in the House."

During the presidential election, the country asked how so much never came to light sooner in Minnesota. Here’s your answer - the state’s largest newspaper is publishing stories that are so inaccurate & biased that they require the community to correct them with the actual facts.

A few things: 1) The seat is NOT vacant - 40B currently has a sitting Representative. 2) You can’t resign from something you NEVER HAD. 3) How can a special election be called with no vacancy? The rule breaking, disregard for law, & disrespect for Minnesotans knows no bounds!
#mnleg news: DFL Rep.-elect Johnson says he won't appeal court ruling on residency, preemptively resigns Walz just ordered a Jan. 28 special for his seat. Timing means Rs will start session w 67-66 edge, allowing them to elect a speaker. Background: axios.com/local/twin-cities/…

No one should be surprised we are now facing a $5 billion deficit. @MinnesotaDFL grew the state budget 38% over two years, which we knew would result in “projected spending growth exceeding projected revenue.” The math didn’t work last session, but they didn’t care.
Democrats have put the state on a path to budgetary disaster. #mnleg

IRS has released the latest income migration data. Yikes. Minnesota data is very concerning. Short story: an accelerating amount of income is leaving MN vs coming to MN. Net migration of income has risen from $215 million in 2017, to over $2.19 billion in 2022. Not good.

Replying to @deenafaywinter
The bag of cash contained 100s, 50s, and 20-dollar bills totaling about $120,000. Here are photos of the money seized when the FBI interviewed the juror this morning:
