This week, I sent a letter to the California Department of Education urging them to investigate the recent hack of Educational Testing Services that exposed the personal information of millions of California students, including their names, addresses, date of birth, disability statuses, assessment results, and testing accommodations.
I am calling on the Department to prioritize and expedite this investigation that revealed private information of millions of students and their families. These families deserve answers, and what is being done to ensure this never happens again.

Kaiser Permanente breaks ground on a new healthcare center in Folsom!
Yesterday, I joined the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 187,000-square-foot outpatient facility that will include 60 clinical offices offering a wide range of care options in one convenient location.
Some of these services include urgent care, mental health services, expanded outpatient surgery, advanced imaging, and much more.

I had the opportunity to meet with college students at Jessup University in Rocklin. I spoke to an American Government class about the workings of Congress, the legislative process, and discussed current events. It was so encouraging to see young, eager students ask such great questions and express interest about how their government operates. Thanks for having me!
It was an honor to recognize Chief Reginald Williams of the Rocklin Fire Department on his retirement after 32 years in the fire service, including six years serving the City of Rocklin.
Chief Williams has earned the respect and admiration of the firefighters he has led and the residents he has served. His tireless work has strengthened the Rocklin Fire Department and helped position it to meet the needs of the community for years to come. Thank you, Chief Williams, for your outstanding service and commitment to public safety. I wish you a happy and fulfilling retirement.
Congratulations to Chief Billiter on assuming the role. I look forward to working with you!
I am pleased to announce that my office is once again hosting the 2026 Congressional App Challenge. This competition is aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The challenge highlights the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.
Each app will be graded by an independent panel, and all awards will be commemorated with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition and will be displayed on my website. Last year, more than 4,600 original apps were submitted from students across the country that focused on real-world challenges ranging from health and accessibility to education, sustainability, and civic engagement.
Additionally, the first-place winner(s) will receive an invitation to the #Houseofcode Celebration located in Washington, D.C., and the winning app will be:
• Displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building
• Featured on the House of Representatives’ website (House.Gov)
The deadline to submit an app is October 26 at 9:00am PT, and you can submit here: urldefense.com/.../go.sparkp… See less
It was great to be with the San Juan Water District and members of the community yesterday to celebrate the progress being made on the Kokila Reservoir Replacement Project.
This is an important investment in our community’s water infrastructure, and I’m proud to have helped secure over a million dollars in federal funding to support this project.
The Kokila Reservoir has served our community for more than 40 years, providing water storage for San Juan Water District and being an essential backup during emergencies.
This project will not only modernize aging infrastructure, but will also help ensure the continued delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to the many customers it serves.
