Our base should not have to beg @SenMcConnell and @LeaderJohnThune to pass something as critical as securing and safeguarding our elections. Period.  I can't think of anything more arrogant than ignoring the will of the people, especially when they're the ones who gave us majorities in the House and Senate. This inaction will not only cost us in the midterms but will also cost our republic.

American immigration policy should serve the American people. President Trump’s public-charge policy emphasizes financial self-sufficiency in immigration decisions. I recently introduced H.R. 9876, the BAN Act, which would address birth tourism by restricting entry for those seeking to obtain U.S. citizenship for a child and establish penalties for businesses that market U.S. citizenship as a product. Our citizenship is not for sale.

“We need enforcement that reaches companies evading our duties, trade agreements that deliver meaningful access, and policies that translate ‘Buy American’ into actual purchases from American producers.” Last week, @HouseAgGOP held a hearing focused on increasing demand and expanding opportunities for homegrown American products. Our farmers, ranchers, and foresters need reliable, dependable markets here at home. I will continue advocating in Congress for the hardworking Tennessee producers who feed, fuel, and supply our nation.

Last week, I was honored to join my Republican colleagues in celebrating the unveiling of @SpeakerMcCarthy official portrait. Speaker McCarthy is a strong conservative leader who fought to rein in Washington’s reckless spending, secure our southern border, and advance a conservative agenda in the House. I was proud to stand beside him throughout his Speakership and I’m glad to see his portrait will hang in the Capitol for years to come.

After years of advocacy, I want to congratulate the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters and @nabtweets for their work in getting the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act across the finish line in the House last week. As a longtime supporter of this legislation, I see the value AM brings to families every day and in an emergency—especially those in rural communities.  The Senate should pass the bill this week. All new cars should have AM capability.

I've been a conservative my whole life. Tennessee sent me to Congress to safeguard their tax dollars, and I will continue to protect your money.

It was great to meet with representatives from the Tennessee Pork Producers this week in Washington and discuss their legislative priorities. I remain committed to supporting Tennessee’s agriculture industry and I want to thank the Pork Producers for continuing to advocate for Tennessee’s swine farmers.

Tennessee has long been a leader in the automotive manufacturing business, and I am proud to support them here in Congress. It was a pleasure to meet with members of the Tennessee Automotive Association in Washington yesterday.

It was an honor to welcome Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi to my office in Washington today. The people of Somaliland have worked hard to strengthen their relationship with the U.S. and our allies. It's why I'm proud to lead legislation that supports removing barriers to U.S. financial markets, which is great for both of our nations.

Today marks 25 years since the horrific terrorist attacks on our nation. We mourn the lives of those we lost and honor the bravery of those who responded. I pray that today, we are reminded of the unwavering spirit of the American people and the unity that followed. May we continue striving for that same unity for years to come.

One year ago today, Charlie Kirk was murdered while practicing his First Amendment right. Charlie will be remembered as a husband, father, and a valiant fighter for truth, justice, and freedom. We continue to lift Erika and his children in prayer during this difficult time of remembrance.

One year ago, President Trump signed the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act into law, amending the Fair Credit Reporting Act to protect homebuyers from unsolicited sales tactics. This week, I received my copy of the legislation with the Presidential signature - a great reminder of the work it took to get this bill across the finish line. I was proud to spearhead this effort to make the home buying process easier and more secure for Tennesseans and all Americans.

Americans believe in democracy. Americans believe in our constitutional republic. Americans believe in a free society. Socialists don’t.
