We deserve a Senator who puts Minnesotans first. Someone who sticks up for everybody. Someone who will work every day to build a country where people can afford to live the lives they want to live.
That’s why I’m endorsing Peggy Flanagan to be our next United States Senator.
I’m supporting Amy for Governor. We’ll be working to turn out voters in CD8. Please join us.

The DFL endorsement is valuable - and it matters. Because I'm running a people-powered campaign, endorsed by and for Minnesotans.
So on February 3rd, attend precinct caucuses and raise your hand to become a delegate for Team Peggy.
.@UMNDuluth is excited to officially welcome Chancellor Nies as our 10th chancellor. TY @SenAmyKlobuchar, @UMNPresident Dr. Cunningham, @UMNews Regents, @UMNAlumni, tribal leaders, local officials, faculty & student scholars for attending the inauguration. Go Bulldogs!

We were so fortunate to have Mary Murphy in our lives. It is a devastating loss for our community. As a teacher for 30 years and legislator for 46, she touched more lives than most people. She was the sage in politics, the Godmother of northern Minnesota. If you were considering running for office, you first consulted with Mary.
I did not have the pleasure of having Mary as a teacher, but I served with her in the Minnesota Legislature, and she taught us many things. When Mary stood up in the House chamber to speak, everyone would put their phones down, peer up and listen, really listen to every word she spoke. She used her powerful voice to teach us of historical facts, to remind us to have empathy for others, and the importance of supporting education. She was passionate about our public libraries. Her support for our community is evident in the infrastructure that surrounds us—any project that received state funding in northern Minnesota, you can be assured that Mary was an advocate. As a strong, fiercely independent woman she also created a path for more strong women to follow. She was a champion for teachers, schools, labor and working families. She advocated for our state Legacy Fund for conservation, outdoor heritage, clean water, parks and trails and precious to her, the arts and cultural heritage that helped fund her cherished public libraries. Please continue her legacy by advocating for the things she valued.
Here is a video of Mary giving the prayer in the MN House chamber, reading from Old Turtle....tiktok.com/@mnlegdfldeepdive…
I’m not running again for #MN08 but want to help by bringing people together. We need to strengthen the organized groups throughout greater MN & empower people to engage. This work will be important for all future candidates.
Our team devoted a ton of energy, our time and our hearts into this election. Our supporters and volunteers were the foundation of a people-powered campaign. We were grateful to have the endorsements from our labor allies, the DFL party, and Forum Communication. But more importantly, we were proud to have the support of so many who live and work here. Thank you.
I want to thank my team for supporting me over two election cycles, for believing in me, and for having hope. I knew the challenges of being a candidate in a tough district. I ran for Congress to hold our current congressman accountable for not showing up, for his voting record and his alliances with corporate interests. I wanted to remind folks that who you elect matters. I’m glad folks had a choice on the ballot.
We have so many super volunteers who door knocked, called voters, planted yard signs, wrote post cards, marched in parades, submitted letters to the editor, hosted events, attended events, waved signs, and funded our campaign. Thank you! We couldn’t have done this without you.
Please join me in thanking my core team:

Dear Supporters,
While the election results are not what we wanted, I couldn’t be prouder of the campaign we built together. We fought for the issues that matter most to the people of northern Minnesota. Our campaign reflected my commitment to the people over outside interests. Though we came up short, our fight was never in vain, and I will always be grateful for the belief people placed in me.
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who gave their time, their energy, and their resources to this campaign. This movement doesn’t end tonight. We’ve built something important, and the relationships we forged and the conversations we had will continue to shape the future of northern Minnesota. The fight for our values will continue.
Now more than ever it is time to unite our communities, organize, and work together as a team to build the future we want. Please stay engaged and contribute to strengthening our democracy. #MN08
Polls open until 8pm. A little rain didn’t stop us from waving signs for @RadosevichPete in Cloquet so don’t let it stop you from voting!

I’m running for Congress because you deserve a better representative. I’m running on my record of getting things done and solving BIG problems with bipartisan support. I served as a state legislator for 8 years in a divided government. I accomplished a lot and earned the respect and trust of my colleagues—Democrats, Republicans, Independents, & Libertarians. I’m proud to be endorsed by most labor unions and 8 of the largest newspapers serving this district. The papers noted that I’m a stronger and more accessible leader than my opponent. They noted my hustle, my effectiveness and my willingness to work with others, regardless of political party.
During the past 2 years I’ve traveled throughout our district, logging more than 70,000 miles, hosting over 50 meet and greets, marching in 34 parades, listening to folks about their needs and sharing my cell number with everyone. The job as a representative is to represent people. And to do this you need to show up and listen. This isn’t new to me. As a state legislator I hosted frequent town hall meetings, provided regular updates, answered every letter, email & voice message. Simply, I showed up and I listened. And that’s why I had the support of over 70% of voters in my last legislative race. You all deserve this same level of representation.
While I was in our district every single day listening to people, Stauber was out of state stomping for other candidates. He spent time with his corporate donors in Alaska, Wyoming and Texas. He’s taking your support for granted—he hasn’t earned it. He thinks being endorsed by Trump is sufficient. In 2022, Stauber lost by 40 percentage points in Duluth; he even lost in his hometown. Folks who know Stauber did not vote for him.
Stauber is a broken record. He’s been saying the same thing for 6 years. Blaming and complaining but not solving any problems he complains about. The power of the purse is in Congress. Bills originate in his chamber, not the President’s office. His party is in the majority, he served under Trump—still nothing to show. While he’s been busy gearing up for to run for Governor, I’ve been busy listening to folks and writing my to do list. Honestly, if you can’t say who won in 2020, if you tried to overturn the 2020 election and voted against investigating the insurrection, you shouldn’t be a member of Congress because you’re not upholding our constitution.
Stauber has no vision for the future. His vision is limited to protecting our way of life. We need to make our lives better—the status quo is not working for many in our communities. The history of our region is doing big things. Big mining, big ships, big lakes, big parks, big trails, & big views. We need to think BIG, not status quo, not small.
I know you’re tired of the bitterness and political rhetoric. I am too. It’s time to elect folks who are moderate, not extreme. Who are willing to build relationships, not destroy them. People like to say they’re bipartisan. Honestly, there’s only one side to be on; and that’s your side. I’m on your side. I’m on the people’s side. Forget about political parties, we need a Representative to fight for us and policies that will help our families and our communities. Not policies that benefit only the rich, the powerful, and the big corporations.
I would be honored to have your vote. I will work to earn it every single day. I’ll show up, I’ll listen then I’ll work hard in DC for you and your community. I will fight for Minnesota—the state I love. This election is about regaining our rights and helping working people get ahead.
Today you have a chance to vote for common sense leadership in Congress. You deserve better and when you vote for me better is what you’ll get.

A note from my mom, my hero who taught me to be brave, strong & to persevere.
This is my plea for you to vote for my daughter, Jen Schultz. Jen has always been hardworking, responsible and caring for others. As a working single mom, with little time to bake, Jen would surprise us with donuts and other treats which she learned to make in home economics class at school. Jen always had the vision to see what was needed and step up to do whatever was necessary. She worked hard for her family, herself and now she is willing to work hard for the 8th District. I am willing to share my daughter with you so she can work for all of us. She has been so busy campaigning trying to earn your vote. She deserves your vote. A mother knows.

Note from my sister:
Jen - Your honesty, selflessness, empathy, intelligence, humility, tirelessness, determination to help others and do the right and smart things, and ability and willingness to do the research, take the time, and build relationships with your constituents, community businesses, and fellow lawmakers make you THE best person to represent Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District. Our state and our country will be fortunate to have your strong leadership in Washington, knowing you’ll be working hard to get things done. We’re so proud of you! Love you, sis! Let’s do this! 💙🇺🇸💪 #MN08
A note from my husband:
This is a call for the people of Minnesota’s 8th District to cast their ballot for my amazing wife, Jen Schultz.
Prior to first running for the MN House in 2014, Jen never planned to enter politics. She did so for the right reasons – to work to enact laws to make people’s lives better, to be a public servant. Over her 8 years in the MN house, working across the aisle for the good of her constituents, she established a reputation among her peers as hard-working, savvy, dogged, knowledgeable and smart. And willing to apply all these attributes towards the goal of improving the lives of Minnesotans, particularly the most vulnerable.
Of course I am biased, but those most familiar with her legislative accomplishments, namely her Duluth constituents, would agree that she was a great state legislator. Over the last 2 years, she has crisscrossed this huge district to meet constituents and learn their concerns. Over this time, the people of the 8th District have learned that Jen puts in the work and the effort, she listens, and she prioritizes people over partisan bickering. She will bring the same skill set she used to get things done in St. Paul to DC.
This past August, Jen and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. As someone who knows her as well as anyone, I can say this without a doubt: The people of the 8th District will all do better with Jen representing them in Congress. I’ve always had her back and cheered her on, and that’s never going to change. I am more than willing to continue taking out the garbage, cleaning, doing laundry, yardwork, and cooking – so that Jen can serve. Our sons are proud of their mom, and I am proud of my wife. She deserves your vote and you deserve her leadership.
Rob
