The biggest difference here is, according to him, we have complete control over which foreign entities have the right to do business in Greenland.
What that really means: We get to tell China to fuck off when it comes to their shady attempts to mine Greenland's resources or set up anywheres in Greenland at all.
One big piece in a bigger strategy of completely securing our hemisphere from foreign interference.

That is not the case.
This is de facto severely limiting the sovereignty of Greenland and Denmark as the US basically needs to approve anything.
In principle the US could even block Denmark and Europe from investing in Greenland....
This will not be forgotten.
