I’m proud to have advocated for and voted for the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act—the most comprehensive federal housing legislation in 30
years.
The bipartisan law cuts red tape, streamlines bureaucracy, improves programs, and strengthens access to credit to help make housing more affordable and available. There’s more work to do, but we’re getting things done for Kansas housing.

Everywhere I travel across Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District, Kansans tell me the same thing: we need more modern housing at prices families can afford.
From Kansas City and Topeka to Southeast Kansas, the Flint Hills, and communities around Fort Leavenworth and Fort Riley, housing is a critical issue.
That’s why I proudly supported the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, the most comprehensive federal housing legislation in 30 years. It cuts red tape and streamlines programs to help communities build more housing. We don’t need more government programs—we need to make the ones we have work better.

I voted for more tax relief for Kansas families through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act:
- No tax on overtime
- New senior deduction
- No tax on tips
- Bigger standard deduction
- Expanded childcare credit
For working Kansans, that means an average annual savings of $2,400 - $3,400 across counties in our Second Congressional District. When the cost of living is high, keeping more of your hard-earned money matter.

Others may be eager to take credit, but no doubt about it, this latest credit outlook upgrade comes after Legislative Republicans took the reins of the budget process and charted a more responsible and sustainable path forward.

Kansas is on strong financial footing thanks to the responsible budgeting of Legislative Republicans. There's more to do, and we're ready to keep building on that momentum.

Frustration is an understatement. This is an outrage.
The Legislature put the funding in place and enacted clear limits on the I/DD waitlist into law. Instead of meeting those requirements, the waitlist has surged to more than 5,300 Kansans while millions of dollars intended to provide services were redirected elsewhere.
These are not numbers on a spreadsheet. These are Kansans who are struggling and families who have already spent years waiting for help.
January can’t come soon enough. We need competent leadership to get us back on the right track.

Every Kansas family deserves a place to call home. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which has now been enacted into law, helps make affordable housing more attainable by strengthening community banks, expanding local lending, and cutting unnecessary red tape. More affordable homes. Stronger communities. Better futures for Kansans.

The Legislature put money on the table to get Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities off the waitlist.
Instead, the waitlist grew while the Kelly Administration used millions in one-time waiver funding to plug holes elsewhere.
This bureaucratic shell game was played with dollars meant to help some of our most vulnerable Kansans.
Families who have waited years for services deserve answers. We intend to get them.

One of the greatest speeches of the late 20th century, given on the 40th anniversary of one of the most spectacular days in human history.

Kansans in rural communities need reliable access to quality health care. That’s why I advocated for a historic $222 million last year to be directed to Kansas to support rural health care access and initiatives, including our 2nd District. I’ll keep working to help strengthen hospitals, providers, and patient care across our region.

Property tax relief is ready, sitting on the Governor's desk right now. #ksleg
HB 2043 passed with bipartisan supermajority support and gives taxpayers a real voice when local governments try to raise property taxes over the revenue cap.
Only one person stands in the way of relief for all of us.

Affordability is the priority.
House Republicans are focused on cutting waste, fixing the property tax crisis, and lowering healthcare costs so Kansans can keep more of what they earn and focus on making the best lives they can for their families. #ksleg

An executive order doesn’t/can’t preempt state legislative action. Congress could, theoretically, preempt states through legislation.
The problem is that Congress hasn’t proposed any coherent regulatory scheme but instead just wanted to block states from doing anything for 10 years, which would be an AI amnesty.
I doubt Congress has the votes to pass this because it is so unpopular with the public.

Today Governor Kelly sued President Trump for the Democrats’ shutdown. If Governor Kelly were a doctor she’d treat influenza by cutting off your arm.
The Governor’s political allies could end the shutdown today by voting “Yes” on the clean resolution. Instead they voted “No” once again.
If the Governor and her attorneys wanted to do something productive they’d sue Chuck Schumer and Sharice Davids for causing this mess.

Over the last month, Washington Democrats have voted 12 times to appease their far-left donors and keep the government shut down.
@HouseGOP did our job and passed a clear CR to keep the government functioning.

The Chinese Communist Party’s treatment of the Uyghur people is a grave violation of human rights.
The House passed the Uyghur Policy Act to stand with oppressed minority communities in China and ensure the United States leads with moral clarity on the world stage.

KS House Republicans did our part for you this year by eliminating the statewide property tax. Now with counties & cities crafting their budgets for the year, YOU can keep them accountable in the fight to lower your property taxes — at all levels.
Let your voice be heard!
