.@RepFord8, Illinois state representative and Democratic congressional candidate, speaks with WCPT 820's Richard Chew on how he takes on the challenges that ICE has brought to his communities and sees it as an opportunity to unite everyone.
"My hope is that I could collaborate and use my voice, my office to uplift the voices of the people that's ready to fight. This is our time to better shape our democracy, to better unite as a people. And when I see this happening, I see it as an opportunity. It looks and tastes like lemons, but we can make this into what they call turning lemons into lemonade."

3/3 As we join fellow advocates and @TransformILHE in calling for Congress to protect funding for Illinois #highered, we’re reminding our state lawmakers of the tremendous role in ensuring equitable access to our public institutions, including its 4-year universities. #SB13 is ready to help IL turn the page on how it funds our public universities – moving the state to an approach that considers the unique needs of institutions and the students they enroll. #transformILHigherEd Learn more: transformhigheredil.org
