✅Rep. Tony Rivero’s Second Chance Bill Heads to Governor After Unanimous Passage
“HB 2749 is about accountability, redemption, and common sense. When someone commits a nonviolent, victimless offense, pays their debt, completes every requirement ordered by the court, and proves for years that they are living the right way, Arizona should not force that person to carry a felony label forever. This bill protects public safety, excludes victim crimes, and gives deserving people a fair chance to work, find housing, support their families, and fully rejoin their communities.” -@AZHouseGOP Rep. @RepTonyRivero, sponsor of HB 2749.

10 of 13 rural county parties sign an open letter refuting the claims made by @JakeHoffmanAZ that @GinaSwoboda set the January meeting in Prescott Valley to somehow rig the election against...I guess someone not as of yet known maybe?
They also call for Hoffman to stop calling for a separate special meeting to remove Swoboda prior to the January one.

When it comes to the fiscal mismanagement of our school districts, look no further than the governing board and superintendent. They all need to be fired.
On the Isaac Elementary Governing Board:
-Patricia Jimenez- President. She has served on the Governing Board for 22 years. Her term expires in 2027.
-Maria Guzman- Vice President. She has served over 10 years, term expires in 2029.
- Harry Garewal Jr.- Member. He has served 6 years, term expires in 2027.
-Maria Hernandez- Member. She has served 4 years, term expires in 2029.
-Rudy Santa-Cruz- Member. He has served for 7 years, term expires 2029.
Isaac’s Superintendent & CFO:
-Mario Ventura- Superintendent. He was appointed superintendent in 2012, previously worked as an assistant superintendent and principal.
- The CFO served for at least 7 years.
That’s why I introduced HB 2610. The bill would require, in the event of a district going into receivership, the county superintendent to remove the governing board and the receiver to terminate the superintendent. The removed board members would also be ineligible to run for a governing board in the future.
The Isaac Elementary School District doesn't just need to be investigated for its gross financial mismanagement. It needs to be ended. azcentral.com/story/opinion/… via @azcentral

Another reason why your state lawmakers matter, and and another example of how they often impact your daily life more often than does a member of Congress. Congress can have a larger impact for sure, but it is much rarer that they have any real impact.

#BREAKING B@mb threat targeting Navajo County polling locations.
Navajo County Deputies were present at several polling locations.
The threat is being considered a hoax.
Press Release from Navajo County Government.
At approximately 1:23 p.m. today, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service from the Joseph City Unified School District indicating they had received an email regarding a bomb threat targeting four polling locations in Navajo County, including Joseph City Elementary School, Kayenta Old Primary School, Kykotsmovi Community Center, and Little Singer School in Dilkon. Local law enforcement agencies including Navajo Nation Police Department, Hopi Law Enforcement Services and the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to each location to investigate the threat.
Additional county, state and federal agencies have joined the investigation, including the Navajo County Attorney’s Office, Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The FBI and Attorney General’s Office have indicated that the bomb threat is believed to be a hoax perpetrated by foreign actors.
However, in an abundance of caution, Joseph City Elementary School was evacuated and students have been sent home for the day. In our tribal communities, local law enforcement worked with each school’s administration to determine whether those schools should be evacuated.
Some of the polling locations closed briefly to allow for security checks. Since no credible threats were found, they quickly reopened and continue to be in operation.
All polling locations throughout Navajo County remain open and we encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote.
We appreciate the manner in which our local, state and national law enforcement agencies worked quickly to evaluate the threat and ensure the safety of our citizens who were present at each location.
We are committed to fair, free and safe elections in Navajo County, and to protecting and ensuring everyone’s constitutional right to vote—this is paramount.
We will share additional updates as we learn more--thank you.
