Investing in rural health care means investing in the future of Western North Carolina. I supported $1 million in Community Project Funding for Blue Ridge Community Health Services and Mountain Community Health Partnership to expand access to care and strengthen our rural health care workforce.

Following my letter to Secretary Rollins, I’m glad to see @USDA preserve the Southern Research Station in Asheville and Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory in Macon County. These institutions are critical to Western North Carolina, especially as we continue recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Rural health care requires a strong workforce. I supported the FY27 LHHS bill, which provides $1.43 billion to strengthen the health care workforce and connect providers with rural communities that need them.

Access to health care shouldn’t depend on how far you live from a major city. I supported $1 million for Mountain Community Health Partnership’s Burnsville Health Center to help expand primary care services for families in Yancey County.

Hendersonville is getting a major upgrade after the city secured $20 million in federal investment to expand its wastewater treatment plant, a project set to create 193 jobs, protect 574 more, and unlock nearly $75 million in private investment for Henderson County. I'm proud to support this investment in our community.
