HISTORIC WARRANT: Florida issues an arrest warrant for former Cuban leader Raúl Castro over the 1996 shootdown of two unarmed civilian aircraft that killed four Floridians.
Cuban American lawmakers are hailing the move as a breakthrough decades in the making. The chief judge of Florida’s 11th Judicial Circuit found probable cause to charge Castro with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in connection with the shootdown, which Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier called a “premeditated, state-sanctioned murder of four Floridians in cold blood.”
The warrant could complicate Castro’s ability to travel to countries that have extradition agreements with the United States. Rep. Carlos Giménez, the only Cuban-born member of Congress, called it a "significant moment in our decades-long struggle for freedom" — but said the fight continues until Cuba's political prisoners are released and its people can determine their own destiny.

The Coast Guard has ordered an immediate review of Chinese state-owned COSCO vessels’ eligibility for a program that reduces port inspections, @Politico reports. This action comes after Chairman @RepMoolenaar, @RepRickCrawford, and @RepCarlos sent a letter to @DHSGov raising these concerns.
Granting a Chinese military company fewer inspections at American ports should not be allowed. Thank you @DHSGov for taking action.

Florida has issued an arrest warrant for Raul Castro. Is this the final move before the U.S. takeover of Cuba?
The warrant stems from the 1996 shootdown of two Brothers to the Rescue aircraft over international waters. Cuban MiGs destroyed the unarmed civilian planes, killing four Americans who were assisting people fleeing the island. Castro commanded the Cuban military at the time.
U.S. Army Reserve units have been ordered to prepare logistics, medical, fuel, and engineering capacity for an operation against Cuba within 90 to 120 days.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been signaling for months that Cuba is about to fall for good.

For months Netanyahu’s opposition was giddy POTUS hadn’t yet endorsed the PM. And the president was asked repeatedly whether he would. Today, in an extraordinarily strong statement, he has. So, the opposition is upset, barking about election interference. Of course, the complaint is unserious and a partisan political whine.
