🏦 $LUNC, $USTC & $CL8Y - WHICH REAL-WORLD ASSETS SHOULD COME TO TERRA CLASSIC?
Real-World Assets (RWAs) are opening up new opportunities for DeFi, connecting traditional financial markets with blockchain liquidity.
Projects like Centrifuge ($CFG) demonstrate how tokenisation can bring real financial assets into decentralised markets.
But here's where things get interesting for Terra Classic.
CL8Y already has the infrastructure to bridge and list RWA tokens.
🌉 CL8Y Bridge - Cross-chain connectivity that allows supported assets to enter the ecosystem.
📊 CL8Y DEX - Trading infrastructure for supported assets and liquidity.
💵 UST1 & CMM - Stable-value infrastructure and liquidity management.
The technology opens the door to something bigger than trading LUNC and USTC alone.
The question isn't simply what we can build anymore. It's what people actually want to trade.
Tokenised treasuries? Private credit? Commodity-backed assets? Real estate exposure?
Of course, issuer restrictions, regulatory requirements, custody and redemption rights all need consideration. Not every RWA can simply be bridged and listed.
And to be clear, no partnership or integration with Centrifuge is being announced.
But we have an opportunity to let community demand help shape future listings.
💬 So here's my question: Which RWA tokens would YOU like to see bridged and traded on Terra Classic?
Name the projects. Let's see where the demand is.
Infrastructure creates possibilities. Community demand helps determine what comes next.

💰 $CL8Y DEX - UP TO 95% LOWER TRADING FEES
What if holding a token delivered a measurable benefit every time you traded?
That's the utility behind CL8Y DEX on Terra Classic.
📊 Trading fee tiers:
• Standard: 1.80%
• 200 CL8Y: 0.90%
• 1,500 CL8Y: 0.45%
• 3,500 CL8Y: 0.27%
• 7,500 CL8Y: 0.09%
💡 On a $10,000 trade:
🔴 Standard fee: $180
🟢 Highest tier: $9
That's $171 saved per trade, a 95% reduction in DEX trading fees.
For $LUNC and $USTC traders, lower fees can mean more efficient capital deployment, particularly when combined with wrapped assets that avoid repeated native burn taxes during internal trading.
But cheaper trading alone isn't enough.
The real test is whether lower costs translate into greater volume, deeper liquidity, and sustained economic activity.
Token utility creates the incentive. Adoption determines its value.

🔥 $LUNC, $USTC & $CL8Y - TRADING FRICTION MATTERS
Terra Classic's 1.5% burn tax comes at a cost. But what happens when traders can avoid paying it repeatedly?
That's where CL8Y DEX changes the equation.
🔴 Native trading: Taxable transfers can incur a 1.5% burn tax, creating friction when moving assets between wallets, contracts, and liquidity pools.
🔵 CL8Y DEX: Wrap LUNC and USTC into cLUNC and cUSTC, enabling internal trading without repeated native burn taxes.
Wrapping/unwrapping costs, trading fees, and price impact still apply, but reducing friction creates opportunities for more efficient trading and liquidity deployment.
And here's the bigger question:
Could higher trading volume ultimately generate more economic value for Terra Classic than higher transaction taxes?
Rather than speculate, we should measure it.

Context absolutely matters, which is exactly why “September vs September” isn’t automatically the better baseline.
A year-on-year comparison introduces a completely different $LUNC price, market cycle, exchange activity, liquidity and on-chain ecosystem. That can be just as much apples vs oranges.
The purpose of the 1.5% tax tracker is to measure what changed around the move from 0.5% to 1.5%, using the previous tax environment as the baseline. The key question isn’t simply whether September beat last September, it’s whether the additional tax collected compensates for any reduction in taxable activity.
I’m completely open to adding YoY and MoM comparisons as extra context. In fact, my original intention was to include them as a baseline alongside an average. The limitation is that I don’t currently have access to an archive node, so I can’t reliably pull all of the historical data needed.
If someone has a better methodology for isolating the effect of 0.5% → 1.5%, put the numbers forward or share the methodology and I’ll happily look at integrating it.
The DEX simulator is a good example of that. It wasn’t originally my idea, someone asked whether I could build a comparison tool to see the tax impact on multiple trades so I tried to implement it.
And importantly, this is a 6-month test. We’re only in month 2.
Once the six months are complete, I’ll finish with a full analysis of the data and upload the tracker to GitLab. If people find it useful and want to continue it after that, the tools and methodology will be there for them to do so.
I am a firm believer the tax increase was a bad idea but all I have to back me up is knowledge and experience, not enough for other people to make an informed decision also, the test is as much for me as everyone one else as I could be wrong.... this is lunc where if the normal rules don't apply because if they did lunc after all these years should be dead 🙂

That’s all it took for CL8Y DEX to go from economic launch to the #1 DEX on Terra Classic by trading volume.
But the volume is only one part of the story.
I’ve put together a full update covering what has actually been built, shipped, and achieved so far 👇

Using CL8Y can be a game changer, especially for arbitrage traders where every fraction of a percent matters.
The big difference compared with something like BNB is that you don't have to spend your CL8Y to get the fee discount, you simply hold it. As you move up the tiers, the trading fee keeps falling while the CL8Y remains yours.
Combine that with wrapped assets avoiding the 1.5% tax on every internal trading leg, and the economics become very compelling for high-frequency traders.
Looking at the latest volume numbers its nice to see im not the only one who sees this as a game changer
Arb trading is just one type of trading CL8Y + wrapped assets is a benefit to all traders

Exactly that. I built it straight off the blockchain; every number is just what the contracts actually hold, so there's no ambiguity and nothing to trust. Anyone can read the same pools and check in seconds. Appreciate the backing, 🙏

I think you are well within your rights to compare DEXs on chain by looking at the contract level and routing, its all open and transparent at the contract level, its freedom of speech after all isnt it?

A pool's dollar-liquidity figure, on any DEX or indexer, is the value of the tokens in the pool, valued at face value. It measures swap depth: how much you can trade before slippage. It is not, and never was, a statement about a token's redeemable backing. So the $103k should be read as exactly that, tradable depth in the UST1/cUSTC pool, nothing more.
Redeemable backing is a separate axis, and it belongs to the token, not the pool. A deep pool can hold a lightly-backed token; a well-backed token can sit in a shallow pool. They don't substitute for each other, so a liquidity label isn't "wrong" for not reflecting backing; that is not what is measured.
If UST1's backing is the real question, that's fair, but it's assessed on its own terms, not read off the pool's depth. UST1 is a collateralized unstablecoin, so measure it as one: "87,933 outstanding" is gross supply, net out CMM-owned liquidity and the available (redeemable) supply is ~1,785 UST1, and the "$69 callable" is just the capital-controlled instant buffer, not the collateral. The actual collateral: CR assets $255,639 vs CR liabilities $13,489 → 1,895% collateralization (18.95x), live and itemised at ust1cmm.com/treasury.
Everything CL8Y DEX runs is on-chain and public, you queried the contracts yourself, which is the whole point. Nothing's hidden at the contract level.

Thanks for the address; I checked it on-chain. terra13ryrr… is a cw20_bonding contract: token_info returns "WESO Token", and it answers curve_info, not pool/pair. It's the WESO token bonding curve, exactly the "bonded amount" you mentioned.
Its reserve denom is LUNC (uluna), and it holds zero USTC (cwUSTC balance: 0). A LUNC→USTC trade needs USTC on the other side; there's none in it, so by definition it can't be a LUNC/USTC pair. It's a LUNC→WESO mint curve.
The only WESO contract that holds both cwLUNC and cwUSTC, the one route a LUNC→USTC swap can actually pass through, is the cwLUNC/cwUSTC AMM pool terra1l7yt…, and it holds ~$177. That's what the tool read. WESO is excluded not because I read the bonded amount, but because that two-sided LUNC/USTC pool is only ~$177.
That's the whole distinction: LUNC collateral backing the WESO token (real, and yours) vs. tradeable LUNC↔USTC liquidity. Collateral can't fill a swap. If there's a pool holding both LUNC/cwLUNC and USTC/cwUSTC with real depth, send that one and I'll add it today — but this contract holds no USTC, so it isn't it.
All verifiable in seconds: token_info / curve_info on that contract, and a balance query for its cwUSTC.

Not quite. The data shows a trade-off, but it doesn’t yet prove the 1.5% tax caused all of the volume decline.
At the moment we’re seeing roughly 63% more tax collected than the 0.5% counterfactual, while taxable volume is about 49% below the pre-change benchmark.
But the 67% breakeven point only tells us when the higher tax stops producing more burn, it does not tell us whether the wider economic cost to trading, liquidity and chain usage is worth it.
That’s exactly why I’m running the test for six months. If the extra burn comes at the cost of materially weaker long-term activity, then shaving some time off the burn schedule would be a poor trade. The aim today is just to measure that rather than assume either side is right.

📊 LeonardoLUNC.org September 1.5% TAX update
Month 2 of the 1.5% $LUNC burn-tax test is complete.
The higher rate is still generating more tax than the estimated 0.5% counterfactual, while taxable on-chain activity remains well below the pre-change benchmark.
🔬 NEW: LUNC DEX Simulator
Thanks to @Lunc_Universe for the suggestion, a new measurement tool has now been added to help answer a different question:
When I trade LUNC → USTC, what does the 1.5% chain tax actually cost me?
Enter a trade size and number of round trips, and the simulator compares available venues using:
• Live Columbus-5 pool reserves
• Actual AMM and tax calculations
• On-chain measured fees
• A $50k minimum liquidity rule
Every route starts and finishes in your own wallet, including Binance, so exchange deposits and withdrawals are treated as on-chain transfers rather than assuming a CEX is automatically tax-free.
This makes it easy to see the difference between an occasional trade and repeated trading, where the 1.5% tax can compound significantly across multiple legs.
Put in your own numbers and see the result.
So, September closed with the 1.5% tax generating ~63% more revenue than the 0.5% counterfactual, while taxable volume remained ~49% below the pre-change benchmark, still inside the ~67% breakeven threshold.
Month 2 done; 4 more to go 🙂

Hi, the information is accurate, and it's straight from the chain, not an aggregator.
The number is the cwLUNC/cwUSTC spot pool (terra1l7yt…pqqjh8hc): ~1.87M cwLUNC + ~13.5K cwUSTC ≈ $177 as I type this. Anyone can verify it in seconds. It's the only cwLUNC↔cwUSTC route in your own factory; every other WESO pool pairs cwLUNC with a different token.
The tool measures what a LUNC→USTC trade costs, so it includes venues with a deep spot pool for that pair (≥$50k) and excludes those without one. WESO's locked collateral backing the token is real and larger, but collateral isn't tradeable swap liquidity, and conflating the two is the actual inaccuracy here.
To remove any doubt, I've updated the page to say exactly that: the spot swap pool holds ~$177, the locked collateral is separate and larger, and collateral can't factor into a swap-cost comparison. WESO is listed as excluded with that on-chain reason stated, the opposite of misrepresenting it.
If you have a LUNC/USTC pool with genuine swap depth, post the contract address, and I'll add it today. Until then, the figures stand; I won't be removing accurate on-chain data on request.

🚀 New liquidity is live on CL8Y DEX.
The new USDT/UST1 pair has launched with $20,000 in liquidity, the first of our bridged liquidity pairs.
Over the next 24–72 hours, the CMM will steadily acquire USDT in $50 chunks, building the bridge ratio toward our 2x target of $5,000 while keeping the process controlled and transparent.
This is another step toward expanding the range of assets that can access liquidity through the Ceramic ecosystem and Terra Classic.
And this is only the beginning. 👀

And there’s still a million miles to go before it hits the ceiling. 🚀

“LUNC is dead.”
Ceramic didn’t waste two years building on a dead chain. He saw potential and kept building.
Those who dismiss LUNC’s potential as a blockchain are missing what’s taking shape. Their loss.
Those who see it are the forward thinkers: glass half full, eyes on what comes next. Every new participant adds to that momentum.

📢 CL8Y DEX CoinGecko Update
CoinGecko has confirmed that listing the CL8Y DEX would require native, non-wrapped trading pairs.
We cannot implement this under the current requirements. Introducing native asset paths would increase the DEX’s attack surface, and the benefits of a CoinGecko listing do not justify the additional security risk.
Our wrapped-asset model was a deliberate architectural decision designed to strengthen security and reduce repeated exposure to Terra Classic’s native TAX.
Security comes before visibility. We will not weaken the foundations of the CL8Y DEX simply to secure a listing.
Ceramic remains in contact with the CoinGecko team and have asked to be notified if its policy changes.
