As part of the Gender Rights and Empowerment Project (GREP), Renel Ghana Foundation organised a one-day training for Smart Youth participants at the One Stop Centre in Ada Foah.
The training focused on building participants' understanding of gender-based violence (GBV), its causes and effects, as well as the available mechanisms for reporting such cases. Participants also explored their roles in identifying and reporting GBV within their communities through practical group exercises.
The session strengthened participants' knowledge and highlighted the importance of active community involvement in preventing and reporting gender-based violence.
GREP is implemented by Renel Ghana Foundation in partnership with Songtaba NGO, with funding from the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and Girls.

As part of the Gender Rights and Empowerment Project (GREP), Renel Ghana Foundation returned to Azizanya in the Ada East District for a follow-up community session facilitated by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ada East District.
The session focused on the review, signing and approval of the community by-laws previously drafted to address intimate partner violence (IPV) and gender-based violence (GBV). Community stakeholders came together to formalise the proposed measures, reinforcing their collective commitment to preventing violence and promoting accountability.
This milestone builds on earlier community discussions and highlights the importance of local participation in developing solutions to social challenges. By supporting community-led measures, the initiative seeks to strengthen local efforts to address harmful practices and foster a safer environment for women, girls and all community members.
