For designers who feels just getting started or left behind, I also feel that I am just getting started. And probably I will always feels like a beginner every single day. this writing will be as cliché as it can get. As cringy as it can be. But I just want to write it out today cause I feel like it. What I want to share is, Define your goals by your own terms. Don't let comparison steal the joy of your growth journey. Yes, allow yourself get inspired by designers that you think already "make it" and you define them as your "idol". But you won't be exactly like them. Your idol is unique. So is yourself. No one can become the next Steve Jobs. No one can become the next @benjitaylor . No one can become the next @jackbutcher . No one can become the next @adriankuleszo . No one can become the next @joshpuckett . No one can become the next @jamesm . No one can become the next @oguzyagizkara And the list goes on and on. Be comfortable with your own journey. Do your best every single day. Nobody is perfect. Embrace the struggle and the pain of unknown, because learning is a lifetime journey, and chasing greatness is something to enjoy. Followers numbers or any social media metrics don't define the quality of someone. It might one of the good signals, but not the absolute determinator. Don't play the cheap game. Enjoy your social media journey like a video game. Don't stress yourself out. Last but not least, enjoy your real life more than your social media.
