1
Here are the 6 questions I always use : 1. Who is the audience? 2. What am I trying to accomplish? 3. Whatโ€™s the message? 4. What story am I telling to share this message? 5. What elements are supporting this message? 6. How do I organize these elements to fit the story?
1
Answer these questions one by one and in this order. Once it's done, you are ready to craft your slides. โœ”๏ธ Need more details? I wrote a blog post : minimumviablepresentation.coโ€ฆ
Did you know that you can save time by exporting a Word Document into PowerPoint Presentation? You can then use AI for the layout. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ โŒ If you want to do a good presentation, please, do NOT use this technique โ—๏ธ

Spending less time on the design is a good idea. But make sure you do it so you can spend more time thinking about your Audience, Messages & Story.
1
Be intentional with your presentations. You can follow a simple method such as the ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—บ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป (Link in comment ๐Ÿ‘‡). It will help you spend less time on your presentations WHILE improving their quality and impact.
In business, we see many bad presentations. ๐Ÿ˜• They are ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ณ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด & ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด for different reasons. But if we look closely, the root causes can be summarized in 3: ๐Ÿ”ด Lack of intentionality ๐Ÿ”ด Lack of clarity ๐Ÿ”ด Lack of simplicity minimumviablepresentation.coโ€ฆ
That might be true, but if you don't simplify, your audience won't remember (or worse, understand).

What is an active title? According to the awesome book Everyday Business Storytelling, an active title should have an active verb. Simple but not easy.

TIP: Want to be sure you did it right? Show the slide to a friend for 3-5 seconds without saying anything. Then hide it and ask her to explain the idea of the slide.
I hear this excuse from colleagues and clients all the time. I have to admit that it's often true... But, most of the time, it becomes a paradox. The "I don't have time" paradox.
1
We don't take the time, we multitask, and we rarely follow a method. Therefore, we end up spending way more time than we should on our presentation. I share some ideas ๐Ÿ’ก and techniques ๐Ÿ”ง that I used to be efficient in this blog : minimumviablepresentation.coโ€ฆ
1
In business presentation, your audience can either listen to you or read your slides. They cannot do both at the same time.
1
If you want them to read ๐Ÿ‘€, you shouldn't do a presentation in the first place. To earn their attention, you first need to respect their time.
1
Please, do not waste your audience's time by delivering a #presentation that could have been an email. ๐Ÿ™
