πŸ‘€ are you guilty of playing Wordle on a team zoom?
Any Zoom over 7 people is ridiculous. - 1 person presenting their heart out - 2 people listening - everyone else checking email/twitter or playing wordle

Back-to-back meetings are a great way to burn out. πŸ˜ͺ How much of that could have been a quick slack conversation instead?
I can’t deal with more than 2 back-to-back meetings at a time. Even 2 is a lot. By the time I’m done my energy needs to be replenished and I have less of it for core work. Thankful that this is rare for me but hate to see friends dealing with crammed meeting days. Go async.

When doing 1-1s with your team, Make the other person feel in control. Share your observations, not your judgments. Ask questions, don't make assumptions. Address their concerns. Listen, really listen. Most importantly, follow through on your commitments.
So exciting to get messages like these from readers. πŸ₯² This is the year to get that fully remote job you’ve been dreaming of!! πŸ‘‰ remoteworkera.com

This assumes most managers have realized by now - which is incorrect.
It's crazy it took a pandemic to happen for managers to understand people can work without constant supervision like a toddler

On the topic of mental health in the workplace, I transparently block off my calendar for therapy and psychiatry appointments. I don't know if anyone notices, but in case they do, it's a small way of helping break the stigma. πŸ’—

Remote work and flexibility when possible is a worker’s rights issue ✊
If your job can be performed remotely, you should have the right to request it! That is what Ireland decided this week by making it a legal right for employees to request remote work from their employers. Hopefully more countries follow their lead. siliconrepublic.com/careers/…
