LET US GET THE FACTS RIGHT A video is circulating on X, shared by Mahere, but questions must first be asked about its original source and the event it depicts. The footage is reportedly from the YW4ED Convention held in September. At that gathering, Hon. Tatenda Mavetera was addressing attendees when young women stood up and began singing in her support. This is an important distinction because the video is now being discussed in connection with the ZANU PF National People’s Conference. We should not confuse events that took place at different times and in different settings. Before forming opinions, let us verify the footage and understand the circumstances in which it was recorded. Do not allow an out-of-context video to become the basis for a misleading narrative.

You never no Messi nothing ... STFU
I watched Messi when he first burst onto the scene, and I’ll say this without hesitation: judging by this video, Lamine Yamal is even better than Messi was at his age. Am I seeing something others are missing, or are Messi fans refusing to admit it? 👀🔥

President @edmnangagwa is the BOSS, & he has done REMARKABLY WELL… Any rational person can see the HUGE DIFFERENCE between the State of Zimbabwe before November 2017 & after November 2017. VP Chiwenga asked questions, some of them rhetorical, while others actually deserve some answers. 1. Before the 2nd Republic, Zimbabwe was literally a supermarket selling foreign goods. Now, in 2026, more than 90% of products on Supermarket Shelves are manufactured in Zimbabwe. Even though there are still imported products, there is always a similar local product. This alone, is enough evidence that the Zimbabwean economy has massively transformed over the past 8 years due to the 2nd Republic’s effective policies and President @edmnangagwa’s exceptional leadership. 2. Before the 2nd Republic, there were no major infrastructure projects directly funded by the govt, NONE. Now, in 2026, we have road construction, dam construction, schools, hospitals, clinics, & university infrastructure DIRECTLY funded by the govt of Zimbabwe. That alone tells you that the CORRUPTION & INEFFICIENCY of the past is GONE! It tells you that folks like @MthuliNcube01 & @GGuvamatanga are doing a great job in collecting revenue & using it to fund infrastructure projects. For that, they should be respected & applauded… that’s the least any rational Zimbabwean can do! 3. Before the 2nd Republic, Zimbabwe was struggling to earn foreign currency. That led to huge legacy debts owed to Airlines that sold their tickets at 1:1 (bond note exchange rate). Those airlines couldn’t get forex… we still owe some of them. Now, in 2026, Zimbabwe is projected to have a $3 billion current account surplus. This means Zimbabwe’s economy is earning more forex than it is sending out! It’s also a sign that Zimbabwe is now producing & exporting more goods than ever before! Adding to that, Zimbabwe’s forex earnings for 2026 will be the highest ever! If this doesn’t tell you that the country is moving in the right direction, nothing else will. 4. In October 2017, the IMF put Zimbabwe’s GDP at $17 billion. Now, in 2026, the IMF puts Zimbabwe’s GDP at $56.7 billion. That’s a 234% increase in GDP in the past 8 years under the leadership of President @edmnangagwa. This increase in GDP is not theoretical, it is VISIBLE & FELT through the massive increase in construction, mining, manufacturing, & agricultural production. Zimbabwe is now wheat self-sufficient. Cement demand is at its highest level ever, fuel consumption has reached record highs, forex earnings have risen massively - all this points to increased GDP. 5. In 2017, Zimbabwe didn’t have its own currency. In 2017, Zimbabwe didn’t have any Forex or Gold Reserves, NOTHING. In 2026, after President MNANGAGWA’s directive in 2023, Zimbabwe now has almost 5 tonnes of Gold Reserves. This means Zimbabwe has the 3rd largest gold reserves in SADC, the 11th largest gold reserves in Africa. All this has been done under the leadership of President @edmnangagwa working with the @TreasuryZW team & @ReserveBankZIM team. 6. In 2017, Zimbabwe was experiencing massive Loadshedding. Now, in 2026, Zimbabwe has gone for 300 consecutive days without any Loadshedding. President @edmnangagwa ended Loadshedding in Zimbabwe, and every rational person knows it and acknowledges it! 7. In 2017, Zimbabwe was, for all practical purposes, a pariah. Almost everyone in Cabinet was under sanctions & many Zimbabwean entities were under sanctions. In 2026, Zimbabwe has effectively been readmitted into the comity of nations. The European Union removed all sanctions on Zimbabwe, the US terminated the Zimbabwe Sanctions Program, & Zimbabwe was recently elected to the UN Security Council with an overwhelming majority! All this is because President Mnangagwa has been PRAGMATIC, choosing to be a friend to all, enemy to none! In short, the 2nd Republic is not repeating mistakes of the past, it is DELIVERING!

Yesterday, Wicknell’s uncle reassured President @edmnangagwa that the Chivayo family will respect Wicknell’s wishes to leave all his estate for his children. I asked a friend of mine who is a lawyer if it will be as simple as that? He said it may be, and it may not be. Here are some points he raised: 1. Indeed, Wicknell had the right to leave EVERYTHING he had for his children. However, it’s not as simple as transferring everything he owned to his children, it depends on the type of marriage he had with his wife and whether he died with a Will or not. 2. Marriages in Zimbabwe are, by default out of community of property. However, it doesn’t mean that if there is a surviving spouse he/she can just be left destitute. There are laws that protect a surviving spouse from becoming destitute in the event that the spouse died without a will or the will totally disinherited the surviving spouse. 3. In the case of Wicknell & Lulu, for practical purposes, they died at the same time (simultaneously). And, as such, under Zimbabwean law, none of them can inherit from the other (He also emphasised that in other countries, the law assumes that the younger of the two died after the older. And in that case, it may be accepted that the younger one inherited the older spouse’s estate before dying). So, in the case of Wicknell & Lulu, unless someone has evidence that one of them died after the death of the other, the law will treat their death as a simultaneous death. In this case, their estates will be separated and wound up INDEPENDENTLY. This means all the properties that were in Lulu’s name will be part of her estate and that property will be inherited by the people stipulated in her will. If there is no will, it’s most likely her siblings & parents who will inherit Lulu’s estate. Wicknell’s properties will also be wound up independently. 4. If they were married in community of property, their joint estate will be split in two and wound up separately. This means that, Wicknell’s children, may only be entitled to the 50% of the estate. The other 50% will be in Lulu’s estate and will go to her chosen beneficiaries OR, if there is no will, most likely to her siblings/parents. 5. For application of the law, in the case where there is no will, children entitled to an estate are only biological children or legally adopted children. This means that Wicknell’s children with someone else (not Lulu), may not inherit Lulu’s estate unless she legally adopted them before her death or if her will explicitly cites them as beneficiaries. 6. As much as there can be a will, some people may challenge it. The signal from the family is good, but it doesn’t mean that’s the end because someone may challenge it. 7. Wicknell’s ex wife, Sonja, is also another factor that can bring more complications to the liquidation of Wicknell’s estate. However, since her own children are the beneficiaries of the estate, she may relax and just be the mother of rich kids. But if she feels she deserves to inherit something, she may challenge the will in court. In short, the issue of Wicknell’s estate may not just be put to rest by the uncle’s announcement, this may just be the beginning of a long battle ahead. DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer, I just tried to summarise what I heard from a friend of mine who is a lawyer. This is also for awareness purposes so that we all prepare for the day we leave this earth! What do you say???

As a law abiding citizen of Great Zimbabwe, I make sure I pay my taxes when they are due in terms of the law. It came as a surprise when a few days ago, I got a call from ZIMRA. “I am from the debtors department, you owe us $20,000.00 in taxes,” he said. “You need to pay up soon before we take measures to take the matter for prosecution,” he added, with a rather soft voice at odds with the underlying threat of prosecution. “Based on my records, I owe you nothing, I pay all my taxes,” I defended myself. “I suggest we meet for alignment. Our system reflects that you owe the government,” he suggested. And so we met. At Kurima House - former Barclays Bank branch. I had never been there since many years ago when I had a Barclays Bank current account, and the branch manager there had asked me to come and collect my Visa Electron card. I must say that Zimra office looks well refurbished - nice paneling and partitions, etc. Good job. We went through the tax records. In the end, he could not find exactly where the $20000 was coming from, though it was on the system. “I can’t see how it’s coming about. I suggest you go to the TARMS office upstairs. They have a deeper access into the system,” he advised. So upstairs we went. The office is on the 6th Floor. We found it after a bit of trouble with the elevators. In the TARMs office, a few people sat in there, and it seems they have super-user access and deeper TARMS training. “Please have a sit, I will be with you shortly. You are clients, we don’t want to keep you waiting”, one of them said pleasantly. I must say that @MthuliNcube01, his deputy K. D. Mnangagwa, @GGuvamatanga & Zimra executive seem to have invested in customer services training at @Zimra_11. They have also invested a lot in digitizing Zimra. After going through the system, he turned his computer screen and started explaining. “You obviously paid what was due, and in accordance with your QPDs,” he said. “Exactly!” I jumped in. “However…” he proceeded, ignoring my gleeful interruption. “… Your Q3 and Q4 QPDs show a significantly higher income than the first two. So when you submit those QPDs, our system assumes you owe us money from the previous QPDs. In other words you under-declared. As a result, our system recalculates the previous QPDs at the higher income levels in the last quarter and deems that as owing, and applies interest on those amounts owing,” he explained. “But that’s unfair,” I mused. How am I to know that Q4 income is going to be higher in January? I asked him. He explained that it’s just how the tax system is designed. He acknowledged that many businesses tend to make more income in the last quarter because of business cycles, and fall into this situation. Perhaps the government should review this situation as it can affect businesses as they will owe the government unnecessarily just because of business cycles. If you make more income in Q4, it’s unfair for that cycle to be retrospectively applied as debt owing plus interest. I am sharing this because there is a chance you owe ZIMRA due to this kind of situation. Read and learn.
