Recently we had the REKOR CEO Robert A. Berman on to discuss the use of Vehicle recognition or Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology and the entire Flock, Privacy Vs. Safety debate.
REKOR has patented technology that scrambles license plate and other data captured by cameras if the vehicle is not wanted or on the HOT List.
REKOR maintains the ability to unscramble that data with a warrant should that vehicle become a target.
The entire debate surrounding @flocksafety should be much more nuanced than tear them all down or if you want to protect civil liberties you hate cops.
Technology isn’t going anywhere, we should balance that technology with constitutional protections for Americans privacy. The Federal Government, states and local governments as well as police departments should draft policy and legislation that is consistent with current case law and the United States Constitution.
