taking an urban economics class in my planning program really made me drift away from leftism because the commies in my program were struggling with it yet they wanted to implement ideas that they could never budget for and hated when my professors kept reminding them about money

knowing economics alienates you from left wing friend groups it’s crazy. i explain how a thing works in america and it’s always “no but it shouldn’t be that way” like ok sure there’s drawbacks i agree. and then you ask what the solution is and they just say “not do that”
