National borrowing is falling faster than expected.
Inflation is down.
Interest rates are falling.
Real wages are improving.
And the U.K. is the fastest growing of the wealthiest countries in Europe.
Step by step, we’re getting our economy back on track.
Today’s public finance figures show borrowing is falling, and falling even faster than forecast back in November.
This is important: the Chancellor’s plan for meeting her fiscal rules is predicated on borrowing falling significantly this year and next.
ALT Chart shows cumulative monthly public sector net borrowing this financial year and last year, £bn. Title states: "Total borrowing over the course of this year is now lower than last year, and has fallen faster than was expected at the November budget."
Massive congratulations to Redhill's Matt Weston, bringing home #TeamGB's first gold medal! An absolutely fearless run.

We're delighted to see investment going into an NHS diagnostic center in the center of Redhill. Opened on the 19th Jan this will enable quicker and easier access to diagnostic services for local people, outside of hospital environments. Find out more.
Make sure you've supplied your view on Parish Councils before the 16th Jan! Changes like this will affect how your local area is run, and how much council tax you will be asked to pay going forward once the Surrey Unitary is up and running.
1/2 As part of our community governance review, we want to know whether more residents want to be part of a parish or town council. Parish and town councils set their own budget requirements and are funded through a separate annual charge collected alongside your Council Tax.

On average in the UK, families getting a new mortgage are almost £1400 a year better off than they were under the Tories - and savings are even higher in the South East.
Cutting debt.
Cutting waiting lists.
Cutting the cost of living.
Delivered.

A huge thank you to all who have been pushing to finally get Gatton Park Rd "rumble strips" repaired.
The new system means pothole cash must be used for this purpose and we're finally seeing the benefits of an additional seven million fixed potholes.
Make sure you have your say in how the county is run going forward into next year. >> orlo.uk/QnQWL
This year Labour delivered an *extra* £322 million marked to repair potholes in South East England- a nearly 50% increase. Enough to fix over 7 million potholes in 2025-26. If there's a pothole - make sure to report to your county councillors, the money is there to be used!
