As others have stated so well, sports fans in BC and across the country lost a great friend yesterday. John McKeachie was a giant of a man, and even a bigger personality. I enjoyed every moment of our time together. NHL, Olympics, Basketball, John made the task fun. He made you think. He was to be inducted to the BC Sports Hall of Fame in November. He so deserved to be there.
He will be missed.

Two remarkable hockey careers. Mike Barnett represented some of the game's biggest stars, including Wayne Gretzky, while Jim Bzdel spent more than three decades scouting talent across pro hockey. Congratulations to both on their Wall of Honour induction!

So very sad to hear of the passing of John McKeachie. A Vancouver legend when I was growing up. He brought sports to life to us younger fans. When I started to work in the NHL it was so great to connect with him many times over the years on the sport and life. RIP Keach. ❤️

I can’t capture in a post the impact Cliff made on myself. I appreciate all the times we spent together and will cherish the memories and lessons. A wonderful executive, but even a better person. Sending love to Linda, Kristy and Chuck and families. Miss you Cliff❤️🍁
