This is a scathing indictment of where we are as a society. Whether they’re conscious of it or not, legacy media is complicit in fascism.

What would it take for the media and Democratic leadership to finally start acting like democracy is under threat? Because you’d think this whole Ilhan Omar thing would be it.
Anyone else notice how influencers and politicians who support Israel have been trying to drive a wedge between the Black community and the pro Palestinian movement? That’s an historically strong alliance they know they need to suppress.
In 2014 when Black youth in Ferguson were being brutalized by police and the National Guard during protests over Mike Brown's killing, it was Palestinian youth in Gaza and the West Bank who used social media to advise Ferguson protesters on how to deal with being tear-gassed.
Because Palestinians were experienced in dealing with being tear-gassed (and worse) by the IDF.
That was one month after Israel's 51 day invasion of Gaza which resulted in 2,200 Palestinians killed, 550 of them children. Even in the wake of being attacked by Israel, Palestinians stood in solidarity with Black Lives Matter protesters in the US.
The residents of Gaza even painted a mural of George Floyd alongside symbols of solidarity with anti-racist protesters in the US.
Seeing DNC-aligned establihsment influencers cynically attack the pro-Palestine movement in the US for political gain is a gut punch not only to Muslim and Arab Americans but to the Palestinians of the West Bank and Gaza who have stood in solidarity with US protesters for decades.
So I guess this explains they were so sloppy yet aggressive with the whole “Talarico went to a mental hospital” thing. They just wanted something out there when this hit.

Trump & Hegseth aren't just proposing to livestream an execution for people who want to watch.
They're proposing to broadcast a man being shot to death, even if deserved by our system, and even if you agree with this version of the death penalty, knowing that the footage will be clipped, shared, and pushed into social media feeds.
Including those of our children. The gruesome image will be everywhere.
Parents will have virtually no control over whether their kids see it. Once those images are released, there is no taking them back.
