Nothing but love and support to the Oak Park Schools community, students, colleagues, friends, and family of Mr. Dwayne Harvey, who was tragically killed last week while working part time as an Uber driver.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him 💜
I love this so much. Happy birthday to the one and only boss! @springsteen

If I’m ever this delusional, I would hope the people who love me don’t let me anywhere near a mic or an on the record call.

*DC Republicans and MI’s Democratic governor who ignored Planned Parenthood’s pleas for help and legislators’ plans for how you could help fund them while trying to use them as leverage to appease Donald Trump.
Fixed that for you. Fight like hell though, right?

I’m unbelievably disappointed that the Governor vetoed these bills. Public employees deserve a secure retirement and more affordable health care.
When we win back the House, keep the Senate, and elect @JocelynBenson, we will fix this. Because we always fight for working people.
Thank you to @JocelynBenson for showing real leadership and political courage. I can’t wait for you to be our next governor
I’m tired of these political games. Teachers, nurses, corrections officers, and so many others spent years fighting for relief, only to have leaders they trusted pull the rug out from underneath them.
I look forward to signing these bills into law as governor. And I'll take on anyone, no matter how rich or powerful, who stands in the way.

BREAKING: The Michigan Supreme Court agrees: Speaker Hall must transmit the stalled bills to Governor Whitmer for her signature immediately. Thank you @MISenDems, Senate Majority Leader @WinnieBrinks and attorney Mark Brewer for defending our Constitution, fighting for hard-working Michiganders, and bringing this case to court. I was honored to receive @K12Michigan 2026 Champion for Students award this week. I first decided to run for this position on behalf of my students who were constantly being shortchanged by decisions in Lansing...
Congratulations to the @UAW Local 2093 members on reaching a TA with American Axel after over a week on the picket line! This is proof that when workers stick together they have the power 💪 #solidarity
"30 by 30."
That's $30 by 2030. That's what UAW Local 2093 members demanded. And that's what they're going to get.
UAW Local 2093 members have always known their own power at American Axle. They recognized that it was their sacrifices 18 years ago that kept this plant alive in Three Rivers, MI, after the Great Recession. And they flexed that power on STRIKE -- to win their fair share of all the success this company's seen in recent years.
Congratulations to these brave men and women for lifting up their entire community with this victory!

The UAW and the labor movement have protected Michigan working families for decades. I’m proud to earn @UAWRegion1 endorsement of my campaign.

Incredibly honored to be endorsed by the Michigan AFL-CIO.
Together, we’re going to make sure that every worker in this state is paid the money they are owed, has access to the benefits they’ve earned, and enjoys safe and dignified working conditions.
Onwards!
They probably needed to build a whole new data center just to make this ad
Michigan Republican candidate for governor (who polls at or near the bottom of the race) is using artificial intelligence for a video ad that doesn't even show his face, but features AI-generated @JocelynBenson, @Tim_Walz, @gretchenwhitmer, @GavinNewsom, @dananessel and, of course, @BuffMikeRogers.

As the first LGBTQ Michigan Senator, I sponsored the law that finally added sexual orientation and gender identity in the Elliott Larsen Civil Rights Act to ban discrimination against our community.

BEWARE OF TRUMP'S "EDUCATION FREEDOM TAX CREDIT"
🚨 The Republican lawmakers who wrote the "Education Freedom Tax Credit" included in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) designed it primarily to fund a Betsy DeVos-style scheme that provides vouchers (which they call "scholarships") mostly for private and religious schools.
NOT EXCLUSIVE TO LOW-INCOME KIDS
🚨 Families/students eligible to claim the vouchers can earn considerable incomes; in fact, a family of four in Livingston County, Michigan, can earn $319,800 and qualify for a voucher.
PASS-THROUGH ORGS WILL BE SET UP TO FUNNEL MONEY FOR TUITION TO PRIVATE/RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS
🚨 What is likely to happen if Michigan opts in to this program is that many new "Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs)" will be created to fund private/religious school tuition, as direct cash transfers for tuition are easy to execute.
IT'S NOT "FREE"
🚨 The more this voucher scheme is used, the less tax revenue the federal government collects. If private/religious schools and their backers are successful in mobilizing large numbers of individuals to partake in this program, the loss of federal funds available for Title 1-A Grants to local districts and the IDEA Act (students with disabilities) state grant program will place very real pressure on state budgets.

Today, we gathered to urge Michigan's Supreme Court to uphold the rule of law and transmit the stalled bills to Gov. Whitmer for her signature. These bills will help hundreds of thousands of hardworking Michiganders — who are already dealing with increased costs and rising gas prices — make ends meet. It's time to get it done.
“The sanctity of the Michigan Constitution and the separation of powers in our state hinge on the outcome of this case,” said Ron BIEBER, president of the Michigan AFL-CIO. “We are not only fighting for the workers impacted by the stalled bills, but also for the rule of law in Michigan. There are no kings in Michigan or America. We urge the Michigan Supreme Court to follow Michigan’s constitution.”
