There’s a guy in rehab right now who has no idea he’s about to have a ridiculous decade.
Doctor. Dad. Coach. Founder. Whatever he decides to do.
Right now he’s probably in sweatpants, poking at cafeteria eggs, or staring into space convinced he’s permanently screwed.
Life’s funny like that.

Reach your muscle goals 💪
Stick to this simple plan to succeed:
1. Take a 1-minute quiz
2. Get a workout and meal plan
3. Follow the program (easy-peasy)
I reported my wallet as stolen after it disappeared during a business trip. I canceled all my cards and filed a police report.
About a month later, I received a package in the mail. Inside was my wallet with every card and the cash still there. There was no return address, just a handwritten note.
It said, “I found this under a seat at the airport. I wasn’t sure how to reach you, so I mailed it to the address listed on your driver’s license.”
At the bottom was one more sentence:

How can a nation preach freedom while oppression plays out in plain sight, literally and figuratively? The U.S. claims virtue, yet racism goes unchecked, wealth piles up at the top, the sick struggle, and gun violence is met with shrugs. This isn’t a broken system, it’s working as designed: lift a few, silence the rest. Hypocrisy isn’t the glitch. It’s the blueprint. #America250

I used to think emotional sobriety meant I’d eventually stop getting irritated.
Turns out it mostly means I notice I’m being ridiculous about thirty minutes sooner than I used to.
Sometimes fifteen.
On really good days I catch myself before I explain to the dog why she’s the one who’s being unreasonable.
Progress not perfection.

Older men have the highest suicide rate of any group, and almost no one talks about it. Retirement, isolation, and a lifetime of being told to never need anyone collide. Check on the old man in your life. Fund the care.

If this Trump administration has taught us anything, it's that the myth of white superiority has always been a myth. The incompetence level of these people should be etched into stone as a never again moment for the country.

The Black intellectual man is the most misread person in his own community. Too Black for white spaces. Too articulate for street credibility. Too thoughtful for the masculine archetype. He exists in a gap that nobody built infrastructure for and navigates it mostly alone.

Black men are told to pull themselves up by their bootstraps in an economy that spent two centuries legislating against their right to own boots. The metaphor was always the cruelty.

The Black father is asked to produce men strong enough to survive racism, gentle enough to sustain relationships, ambitious enough to build wealth, & humble enough to remain teachable. He is asked to do this without a blueprint, without institutional support nor help

Bill Wilson saw that sobriety could not stop at not drinking.
A man can put down the bottle and still be ruled by fear, resentment, control, approval-seeking, and emotional demand.
That is why emotional sobriety mattered.
the problem is not merely the addiction.
The problem is the what Thomas Merton called the false self.
And the false self can survive even inside “spirituality.”
It can say “Higher Power” while still refusing surrender.
It can seek healing while avoiding obedience.
It can pursue peace while remaining curved inward.
The next frontier is not just emotional balance.
It is the death of the self built on fear, control, and illusion.
The true self is not invented.
It is received.
And it becomes real in full unconditional surrender.

Your marriage should be your son’s blueprint and daughter’s standard. Choose wisely.
To justify slavery, the whites portrayed blacks as subhuman: primitive, stupid, and servile.
To justify segregation, the whites portrayed blacks as morally corrupt: ignorant, predatory, and sinful.
After civil rights, the whites portrayed blacks as evil: drug addicts, gang bangers, and welfare queens.
There has never been a point in our history when we whites have systematically and institutionally valued black lives as we do our own
