"Just seeing their confidence grow."
While recounting more on her relatability, Kahleah Copper also details the challenges, uncertainty, & unforgiving nature of "staying ready," & shines light on Phoenix's young group there.

Kara Dunn's shooting 57.1% from 3 in the 4 games she's been available for this season.
Even more, with each of the 2 games she's play 15+ minutes in, she's knocked down 3 from deep. (Going a combined 6-for-9).
Fun physicality & compete level within it all too. She's a piece.

Nate Tibbetts spoke with me about Kara Dunn closing the game with the starting unit last night.
“We like her positional size. We want to put shooting around AT, and KD can do that. She’s not afraid. I feel like ever since she's got here, she's continued to work to get in better shape. That’s a big thing for young players, especially someone that was at home trying to do the rehab on her own. That's why I think these player development spots are so huge.
“She’s been here now for a couple of months and prepared herself for this opportunity, and she hit some big ones… just her youthfulness and how hard she was playing. We needed that tonight.”

Paige is guarding Kara Dunn, who receives a cross screen from Kah Copper, Arike doesn't switch, Kah has Paige and Arike on her, and Paige inadvertently screens Jess Sheppard while trying to scramble to Kara, that left the paint wide open. And honestly the 3 was wide open too.

Phoenix Mercury’s Kara Dunn’s reaction following the team win against the Dallas Wings.

Always thought Kara Dunn was underrated in college. Tough when you are undrafted, cut in training camp, then signed late in the season. Hard to get a rhythm when minutes may be sporadic
But she's 8-14 3PT (57%). Small sample but think she'll get a standard deal next year.

Solid first half for the Mercury, trailing 47-43. Kara Dunn is 3-of-3 from downtown. Nobody else has connected on a three for Phoenix, but keep creating some open looks and results will come

Kara Dunn has just been a 3PT sniper to begin her career. Great option for Alyssa Thomas to have on her drives, particularly in those corners.
She's going to be special in this league for a while. Just a pure shooter

Only the fourth regular season game of her WNBA career, and rookie Kara Dunn was making big plays on BOTH ends in crucial 4Q minutes! Can’t wait to see what Dunn does next season with a fully healthy offseason for her to work on her craft! 💪🏽

I can see Alyssa Thomas wanting/needing Kara Dunn back on this roster next season. The more shooting, the better.

Every team needs a vet like Sami Whitcomb.
Loved her perspective here when talking about how proud she is the young Mercury players making the most of their opportunities, namely Kara Dunn, who made her WNBA debut last night
