We haven't really talked about it since all of us are/were contractors but, This spring split, the @/PathToLCS (NACL) observer team was reduced from a rotation of 8 to 2 people. The remaining 2 of us had our day rate slashed from 650 to 200, making this no longer a liveable wage

BIG THREAD 🧵 I used to be a student, and I agree - it was TERRIBLE I left and made a promise to make it better for other students and prepare them for the industry - and with that I started working with Confetti, who offer a Esports Broadcast degree and here's what we've done:

It’s funny how universities wont offer a ‘football’ degree, or a ‘rugby degree’ But they will offer an ‘esports’ degree It’s almost as if they know they can take advantage of students and grab their wallets. I honestly detest this movement by unis that’s happening right now.

The other perspective is to think about how many people on other courses end up in the line of work they studied in, I think this is part of a wider discussion about how universities don't make students "work ready" rather than specifically targeting esports

Overwatch has so much potential as an esport thats being wasted. I can't express to you how much more exciting and interesting Valorant is as an esport, and its NOT because the game is better. The Overwatch League/Contenders format makes it so ridiculously boring.🧵

Joke aside, je reste convaincu que ce genre d'events, et les ressources qui vont avec, doivent se faire aussi sur la scène compétitive, pour permettre à cette dernière de se professionnaliser. J'espère sincèrement que cela va inciter les viewers à suivre les compétitions T2/T3!
