Culture Night 2026 was celebrated across Dublin tonight. On one side of O’Connell Street, there was a stage, live music and people dancing. On the other side, outside the GPO, more than 400 people queued for food. The contrast between the two sides of the street was heartbreaking. Among those waiting were children, elderly people, rough sleepers and people using Zimmer frames and crutches. Some stood in the queue for two or three hours. Others arrived late, saw its length and pleaded to be helped quickly because they had a hostel curfew, needed to return to their children or simply could not physically manage the wait. Week after week, we hear people begging for their stories to be heard. Tonight, as we packed everything away, our volunteers were completely exhausted—not only from serving hundreds of hot meals, snacks, fruit and yoghurts, but from witnessing such overwhelming need once again. We also do our utmost to ensure that the area is left completely clean after every soup run. Our volunteers collect every piece of rubbish, tie up all the bags securely and stack them neatly for collection. We respect this historic place and always take responsibility for leaving it clean and tidy when our work is finished. Culture Night celebrates who we are as a city. But this is also part of our city, the painful reality of homelessness, poverty and food insecurity unfolding outside one of Ireland’s most historic buildings. It is shameful that, in 2026, this service is still so desperately needed. Yet we could not continue supporting our homeless and vulnerable friends every week without the generosity of our donors and volunteers. If you are in a position to donate, please support our weekly GPO Soup Run. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us provide food, dignity and compassion to those who need it most. msoe.ie/donate/

THEY DELETED THE ACCOUNT. DON’T LET THEM DELETE THE QUESTION. Yesterday @Parodyjeffx posted a screenshot of a Grok reply that said Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. It went viral within hours. This morning the account was gone. If they can switch one person off the second a post breaks through, then “free speech” is just a slogan. An account is not a life, but silencing one voice is how they teach the rest of us to stay quiet. Stand up. Demand the account is reinstated. Demand a public explanation. Demand the same rules for every side. What’s the point of any of this if they can just lock the door the moment someone rattles the cage? Like. Comment. Repost. Quote this. Keep the screenshots alive. Tag @Support. Do it now, before the next account disappears.

I hadn't seen the recording of my closing remarks to the Human Rights Council until now. Of everything from this mandate, this is the testimony I'd want to remain.
Francesca Albanese appeals, over and over again, to the international community, to stop the slaughter. And a very clear message to the apartheid regime and its supporters: stop weaponising the Holocaust; I don’t care what religion you are. vt.tiktok.com/ZSVPEUecV/

& Saif A. have been kidnapped, mistreated, arbitrarily detained, to punish them and crush the growing solidarity movement against Israel's genocide in Palestine. Do not let it happen! Demand their freedom and freedom for all Palestinian hostages! #FreeThiago #FreeSaif
Israeli soldiers beat and tortured flotilla organisers Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila after abducting them in international waters near Greece in the early hours of Thursday morning, lawyers and diplomats have said. After illegally intercepting 22 boats and kidnapping around 200 activists hundreds of miles from Gaza, Israel transferred the majority to Greek authorities, but refused to release Abukeshek and Ávila. Instead, it transported them back to an Israeli desert prison, where Palestinians are routinely tortured. Brazilian activist Ávila was dragged face-down across the floor and beaten so badly he passed out twice, lawyers said, after visiting him on Saturday. His wife, Lara Souza, said an embassy official told her he had been temporarily blinded by his injuries, with his left eye still swollen shut, but he was being denied medical treatment. In a brief visit, where he was separated from the consul by a glass screen and not able to speak freely, he reported pain all over his body, especially in his hand and shoulder, and said that soldiers had threatened to throw him overboard and target his wife and two-year-old daughter. Abukeshek, who had been sailing on an observer boat and did not intend to go to Gaza, was “in shock”, his wife Sally Issa said. He was forced to lie face-down on the floor of an Israeli warship for two days, lawyers said, blindfolded and with his hands bound behind his back. Spain has demanded Israel release Abukeshek, who is Palestinian but holds Spanish and Swedish citizenship. On Friday, prime minister Pedro Sánchez said he had been "illegally abducted by the Netanyahu government". On Sunday, the activists appeared before an Israeli court, where a judge extended their detention by two days. Lawyers demanded their immediate and unconditional release, telling the court the entire process was "fundamentally flawed and illegal", and describing Israel's actions as a "retaliatory measure against humanitarian activist leaders". The two men have now been transferred back to solitary confinement in Shikma prison, where they are being held in windowless cells. Both are on hunger strike, with Ávila saying he will not leave without Abukeshek.

Protecting our women and children....
Racism, particularly against Muslims and Asians, is off the scale in Ireland. You have to admire the drivers composure though.

By refusing to take action against clubs based in Israeli settlements, FIFA has failed to enforce its own rules and is blatantly flouting international law. FIFA had a clear opportunity to stand up for Palestinians’ rights and international law – with this decision it has shamefully chosen to abandon both. amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…

Once again FIFA has ignored its own statutes. It's now decided that who owns the West Bank is "disputed". It's not. It's Palestine. This is indefensible and Ireland can take a stand and refuse to be complicit in enforcing apartheid by refusing to play Israel.
In breach of its of Statutes, FIFA declines to remove Israeli settlement clubs from it's structures saying that it is a very difficult matter of public international law to decide whom does a territory of the West Bank belong to: Palestine or Israel.
