There should be much more handwringing around the Cleveland Guardians running the 30th ranked payroll in Major League Baseball despite having a first-ballot HOFer on a contract extension that should have warranted MLBPA intervention + 2 AL ROTY candidates on league minimum deals.

When I said that they're an affront to the sport, this is what I meant. This is why I balked at the idea of them being considered equals to this year's Brewers (or even Rays). They didn't try. Guardians fans should be furious that this team still managed to win 85 games.

I cut out RedZone this year after subscribing since 2018. Haven't missed it at all. Was not enjoying watching it last year because they've diluted the product. I will also continue to beat the drum for the delay in streaming (and even cable now) being untenable for live sports.

It feels sacrilegious to ever complain about God's greatest gift to man, but... The Red Zone Channel has been a fairly disappointing product this year And I feel like whoever the producer of the show is right now is to blame So much time spent on showing replays of the same thing over and over and over again (the Browns' game-winning field goal this week and the Jayden Daniels play last week) Rather than showing what is currently going on in the other games (mind-blowing, really) I feel like they're using the double and quad box way less often, and we're constantly missing big plays Everything also feels more delayed because of this, and I find myself needing to check my phone more often because of it

A half-decent antenna from Walmart can get you every national game at about the same speed that updates come in from apps like Real or Sleeper. Streaming has hit a point where games are 2-3 plays behind reality. It's ridiculous. Prior generations had it better than the present.

If the Reds would have done this back in August 2025. 1) Vilade is almost certainly still in the org 2) McLain avoids Super 2 status and being in his second ARB year this offseason 3) ...idk, the Reds still end up the 6-seed and get smoked by the Dodgers. But I'd be happier.

Gonna fire off this take and walk away: I'd demote Matt McLain for Ryan Vilade. Lux/Vilade platoon at 2B until September 1st. It's McLain's job to take back at that point if he's earned it.
