Under a newly proposed Census Bureau rule, college towns could face severe undercounts.
We broke down data from 38 college towns to show how the new policy could fundamentally distort census count and threaten vital funding for local infrastructure: bit.ly/484jzQ1
NEW REPORT: A proposed 2030 Census rule change uses tax records over physical residency, threatening to miss millions of students and strip federal funding from college towns.

VICTORY: SCOTUS has granted NRF-supported litigants an emergency stay, blocking Missouri’s 2025 gerrymander from being used in this year’s midterms!
This means the fairer 2022 map will be used this November.
NEW: The NRF is supporting People Not Politicians in its application for an emergency stay, asking SCOTUS to block a recent federal court ruling reinstating Missouri’s 2025 gerrymander.
The court should deny this ruling and uphold the 2022 map. bit.ly/4yOA5iA
VICTORY: SCOTUS has granted our emergency stay request, blocking Missouri’s latest gerrymander!
This is a major win for the people of Missouri and proof that when we stay committed to our fight for fair maps, we can win.
"[SCOTUS] has already denied one attempt to block the Missouri Supreme Court’s decision, and it should also deny this outrageous attempt by a single federal judge to intervene in state court proceedings.”
Our statement on today's emergency stay request: bit.ly/4xTg2ja
BREAKING: We are filing an appeal to SCOTUS to make sure Missouri’s latest gerrymander remains rightfully banned from being used in the Midterm Elections!
We are asking SCOTUS to reaffirm Missouri's highest court and reject an eleventh-hour contrary federal district court order.

@RedistrictFdn has fought for VRA-compliant maps in LA and AL since our founding. We challenged both states' congressional maps in 2018, and again after 2020, leading to the Milligan win out of AL just 2 years ago. My thoughts after being at #SCOTUS today for LA vs Callais:
Important thread on today's oral argument at SCOTUS in Louisiana v. Callais, and the state of the VRA 👇

The VRA of 1965 established the fundamental principle that every American, regardless of race or color, has the right to vote.
At a time where racial discrimination in our elections remains pervasive, our lawmakers must recommit to the restoration of the VRA in its entirety.
🆕⚖️Just in: The federal district court in our Alabama case rejected the state defendants’ motion to dismiss the NRF's Section 2 lawsuit—marking another crucial milestone in our fight to ensure fair representation for AL voters and to make permanent our 2023 SCOTUS victory!
Today marks the one-year anniversary of SCOTUS' decision in Allen v. Milligan.
We are proud to have supported the Alabama voters who sought (and secured) a new, fair, congressional map with additional Black opportunity districts.

🚨Louisiana’s new, VRA-compliant congressional map will stay in place for the 2024 elections. SCOTUS ruled on the side of the NRF-supported Galmon intervenors, and acted in accordance with Allen v. Milligan, upholding Sec. 2 of the VRA. Our full statement: bit.ly/4bGY5c0

Today, in a major victory for voters, a GA court struck down the state’s congressional and state leg. maps as violations of Section 2 of the VRA.
After initiating these challenges in 2021, we are thrilled with this giant step toward equal representation! bit.ly/3s9FS5I

Alabama has a new, fairer congressional map that gives Black voters an equal opportunity to elect a candidate of their choice.
This is a historic win for voting rights and democracy, and it happened thanks to the hard work of Black voters, advocates, and organizations like @RedistrictFdn.
