A ministry of justice representative, Ms Dagmawit, highlights the importance of transitional justice to end conflict and related atrocities in #Ethiopia. As to her, efforts made to provide psychosocial support to victims is very limited & hence every concerned should involve.

Q&A session underway: How climate change have a negative impact on Child marriage? How does arranged marriage leads to a rise of age for marriage? Early marriage leads to early divorce - What is the consequence for young women who are getting divorce?

An interesting finding from @GAGE_programme is the fact that the type of child marriage is shaping its trends. Where it is adolescent driven, the age of marriage is dropping. Where it is arranged, the age at w/c girls marry is rising. @MeganDevonald @njones_gage @FCDOResearch

It is also depressing to witness the poor voice and agency of women and girls. Most married girs have no meaningful input in to family decisionn making except on house chore issues. @njones_gage @MeganDevonald @FCDOResearch

In her presentation, @njones_gage, @GAGE_programme director, highlights how adols often do not have a trusted adult in their lives. They feel their parents talk at them rather than with them. Adols r esp. unlikely suppoorted by their fathers. @MeganDevonald @FCDOResearch

Happening NOW: @GAGE_programme is undertaking a baseline dissemination workshop on "Strengthening the evidence base on approaches to tackle FGM and CM in Somali region", at Jigjiga. GO and NGO stakeholders and the @IrlEmbEthiopia and @save_children staff are sharing experiences.
