I am telling you the problem is not the live-streaming part of that Election Amendment Bill.......the problem is the 2 hours deadline for the Presiding Officers to submit presidential results. Yaani by saa moja jioni wanafaa kua wamejua president before hawa wengine.
Shida yenu ni kua hamsikizangi na mnaonanga kujua sana.....Ruto knows that you won't accept him. He knows mtaandamana and shut down the country. Sasa hii setup ni muandamane kama ashakua declared president......no gap, no lacuna.
If only you'd listen to me 😒😒. Right now you are being bashed about live-streaming with facts to be distracted from the clauses with real impact. Nkt.

NO TRANSPARENCY, NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
Kenyans deserve to see, verify, and scrutinise election results. @IEBCKenya You cannot claim to protect democracy while weakening the very safeguards that make elections credible. The vote must not only be counted. It must be verifiable.

There is only so much frustration a people can endure before they reach their breaking point. Kenyans are being pushed to that point, and this regime seems oblivious to the danger it is creating!

What do you mean results declared at polling station are not final?
WHERE IS IEBC PLANNING ON GETTING MORE ACCURATE RESULTS?
Replying to @Kelvin2025433 @W_Asherah
4results declared at polling station are not final and IEBC will establish which results accurately represent the polling station declaration

On Live Streaming of Election results:
Remember, Ruto & Uhuru amended Elections Act in 2017 to block live streaming. We went to Court and Court invalidated the amendments.
That 10 years later Ruto thinks he can block live streaming is laughable.

This morning we filed a petition against the bill that National Assembly passed removing live transmission of presidential elections results. We have untill Monday to serve and we are going to do exactly that. We are against opacity in Kenya's electoral system.

Kenyans deserve to see how their votes become election results and not simply be told whom to trust. On 22 October 2026, the National Assembly passed the Elections (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2024. Parliament must now publish the approved text and account for its implications for electoral transparency.
In the published Bill, Clause 22 replaces section 39 without expressly requiring livestreaming of results announced at polling stations, while retaining electronic transmission and online publication of results forms. That is not a ban on livestreaming. But sending results to election officials and allowing citizens to watch their announcement serve different purposes. Parliament must clarify whether this omission survived the amendments MPs approved.
The court history cannot be ignored. On 6 April 2018, in Katiba Institute v Attorney General, the High Court invalidated section 39(1G), which required livestreaming but confined streamed results to public information and excluded them as a basis for declaration. The Court rejected that restriction for undermining electoral transparency and accountability. It did not prohibit livestreaming. The Court of Appeal upheld the invalidation on 6 October 2023 in National Assembly v Katiba Institute. The legislative task is therefore to enact a constitutionally sound obligation and not present an already-invalidated provision as an effective safeguard.
Article 86 requires a transparent, verifiable and accountable electoral system, prompt polling-station announcements, and open, accurate collation. Ahead of 2027, Parliament should expressly secure public access to live results announcements, and the IEBC must explain how citizens will follow and scrutinise the process. Electoral reform should make every vote easier to verify, not leave transparency dependent on institutional discretion. The ballot is secret but the count must be open.

You see how MPs have approved the bill to stop the IEBC from conducting a transparent elections? That's the same way they will scrap the term limit for William Ruto.
The biggest problem we have in this country is those stupid Mpigs

Then you just hear IEBC announcing the winner out of nowhere

Kenyans cannot be afraid of a disease when we have a gorvement that has been moving like ebola since 2022. Long before ebola even made its way into Kenya this government has been spreading death, poverty and misery. Dare I say they have monopolized the business.
Good morning from ndeiyashire.

They brutally killed people who marched, hired goons to loot and rape women and now that people are organizing towards the ballot, they want to get rid of live-streaming of results. No one in power should make the mistake of assenting that bill. No one.

Why does it feel like there's a rush to auction Kenya to a select few? Trends I'm noting:
Oil man: One man wants to source crude oil, refine it, supply the finished product, and own a significant stake in the pipeline that transports it. Add the push for protection against cheaper fuel imports, and it starts looking like one man wants control of the entire chain, from crude to pump.
Moving to roads. Mau Summit–Rironi, Rironi–Malaba, James Gichuru–Rironi, more floors on Thika Road, and of course, tolled floors! Every other road is becoming a tolling opportunity. Please note: privatised tolls for about 30 years.
Minerals. Blocks are being allocated in a hurry, with Shanta Gold among the prominent players. Can't mining be done by a state entity with a Kenyan-subscribed IPO ama pia hiyo watatudangote!
Agriculture nayo haijaachwa. Sugar factories were handed to private operators on 30-year leases, at peppercorn land rent. With this supposed privatization efficiency, sugar imports continue.
Now, 21 NCPB warehouses are lined up for handover to selected private operators, supposedly to fight other cartels. We are fighting cartels by handing public infrastructure to a select few?
I dont know know, but I know KCC regional restructuring is not all that there is to it.
Oil, roads, minerals, sugar, grain, milk.
Is it efficiency and productivity we are chasing, or control of resources and supply of essential goods and services?

The truth is, it is factual that they are planning to rig the election. They have been rubbing it in our faces. They talked about using dead people's records to vote. A whole CS claimed that they would bring people from Somalia and register them as voters. Our media reported that Ugandans were being registered as voters. What did the electoral body do? They denied the claims and said they were false.
What does that tell you? It shows that the institution has been captured. The people in these institutions are there to serve those who put them in office, not the people they are supposed to serve.
The question is, when they attempt to rig the election, are we going to accept it and let it go?

Fellow Kenyans, the Constitution is clear.
The electoral system must be “accurate, verifiable, secure, accountable and transparent”
No law is superior than our Katiba.
I will work with the People’s Coalition for Electoral Reforms @Reforms_Ke to thwart any efforts to return us to the dark era of ECK or the post election violence of 2007/08.
The National Assembly has approved the Elections Amendment Bill 2024, which could scrap mandatory livestreaming of polling station results, raising fresh concerns over transparency ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The PEV in 2008 was basically a land war masked as an electoral dispute. But the electoral dispute itself was a product of "not knowing" what was going on. The more Samuel Kivuitu sat at KICC and declared that "we can't reach some of our presiding officers", the more it inflamed the country.
You see, because Kenya is a peaceful country, full of impunity, bad governance and corruption, the citizens generally choose to wait five years to try and remedy these national ills via the ballot. Even when an election is stolen, there is general belief that the next one will be better (even though the political class has effortlessly managed to wipe off this latter belief too).
Because elections are the only peaceful method of change available to raia, electoral justice has become a matter of life and death in this country. Which is why when the NADCO was formed post-2022, one of its remedial bills was the Election Laws Amendment Bill 2024. It had a Clause 39(1G) which dealt with the big matter of live streaming of elections.
Yesterday, MPs in the National Assembly deleted this clause, despite ominou warnings from MPs like Caroli Omondi that the country was playing with fire when it came to the opaque nature of elections. Remember 2008 happened because "we didn't know" and in our not knowing, someone altered results. The generation that folded its arms and let election theft pass is gone, so the 2027 variety of elections will have no second choice when it comes to credibility.
If MPs don't know this, then trouble is on the way.
