The IDF declared a “closed military zone” to disperse people who gathered for a children’s concert and graduation ceremony in Umm al-Khair, the West Bank. The injustice of the occupation is especially stark in the way it affects the lives of children living under it.
In Umm al-Khair is constantly under attacks from settler terrorists, backed by the IDF. Last April, settlers erected a fence blocking the village's children from reaching their school. And last February, the IDF attempted to demolish a football field built for the children in memory of Awdah Hathaleen.

Extensive investigative findings place Glass and his "Vampire Empire" company—operating under the 52nd Armored Battalion—in the immediate vicinity of the family's vehicle during the massacre, which saw Israeli occupation forces shell and riddle the civilian car with hundreds of bullets.
