Bill is right. I noticed this, too. It was 4th and about 5.5 yards. Running into the punter is NOT an auto first down (it’s not a “personal foul”), as some people in the comments are saying. It should have been 4th and about a half yard. Big Ten officiating at its finest.

Can someone tell me how 3rd & 5.5 = 1st & 10 after a 5-yard penalty? Side judge clearly had him down at the 29.5 yard line, then incomplete pass, then punt/penalty.
