I was listening to last night's show on Spotify...you all need to read up on Kant and his philosophy. @Timcast

I live in a rural area, and my internet wasn't working tonight. I went outside to check my physical connection, opened the box, and ladybugs came pouring out. They must have been attracted to the heat. I shooed most of them out. Internet is working again. Considering Starlink.

The 10 year old living inside my head thought chili dogs sounded good for breakfast. Adult me is sitting at work regretting that decision...I should've gone with cookies and ice cream instead like a reasonable person.

I tried fixing my leaky washing machine and now leaks even more and shorted out halfway through the load. I guess I'll have to spend the money for a new one.

Well, I think the only way to settle this dispute is for Sydney Sweeney to do a remake of Basic Instinct and we can all freeze the frame at the appropriate time to determine the winner. You're welcome......
Sharon Stone says Sydney Sweeney should ‘take responsibility’ for provocative sports betting ad. Sharon Stone is the same woman who showed her Crotch in ‘Basic Instinct’

I made an image using AI over a year ago and made an acrylic painting based on that image. Grok just took that painting and made it better. This is the result: Asteroid

Beautiful day today. Played my lute for a couple of hours while looking out my front window and saw the four neighbor boys play baseball after school then help their grandpa dig up potatoes from his garden. There's still good in this world.

Did some serious stargazing for the first time tonight in probably fifteen years. Pulled out the binoculars and telescope. I'm stunned at how many satellites there are up there!

I'm starting to think Archie Bunker was right about everything.

This picture makes me think I'd be a great sidekick for a gritty reboot of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Leather jacket, red mane, glasses and revolver? Instant red fox. One fashion choice too wasteland-raider and the reverse polymorph leaves you a sneaky, tattooed vulpine gunslinger still looking for trouble.

I hate mowing the lawn...I accidentally killed a frog and a big butterfly that I thought was a leaf...was too late to stop. Not to mention thousands of moths, crickets, and grasshoppers. Hopefully this is the last mow of the year and I'm done with this terrible and stupid chore.

I have at least a couple hundred monarch butterflies in my front yard right now. They're swarming all over my trees and flowering shrubs. Incredible creatures. Hope this is a good pitstop for their migration.

I learned something interesting about Monarch Butterflies by observing them tonight...they rest on dead tree branches overnight and pretend to be dead leaves that are changing color. If a butterfly lands in a "bad spot" that would disrupt the illusion, the other ones shoo it off.

I'm listening to Joe Rogan...does anyone else giggle when his guests say "Homo Erectus"?

NASA estimates SR-1 Freedom (the nuclear electric propulsion craft to Mars in 2028) at ~$2.1B, excluding SkyFall helicopters and launch. That's ~0.03% of the projected $7.5T FY2026 federal outlays, or under 10% of NASA's ~$25B+ budget. Improper payments reached $186B in FY2025; earmarks hit $24B. Future "star fleet" plans remain uncosted.

Saw a critter slowly crossing the gravel road when I was out running. When I got to the edge of the cornfield I saw that it was a huge mamma opposum with 3 babies on her back. Good way to start the day.

We need to feature more stories like this.
Emma Schols ran back into a burning house burning 93 % of her body to rescue all six of her kids. She was on a ventilator for weeks. Doctors said people rarely survive burns that extensive. When she woke up, the first thing she asked was whether her children were alive.

Grok is fun! Here's me as a Lord of the Rings character according to Grok:

I complain a lot about my life, but on beautiful mornings like this I realize how lucky I am to live where I do. Went out for my morning run down the gravel road. Gorgeous sunrise, ducks flying south for the winter. Field of hay bales on one side of the road, corn on the other. I could taste the corn in the cool air. Low laying fog and deer in the distance. I run through the nearby small town. See an old man tending to his garden, another neighbor out playing fetch with his hunting dog. Wave hi to the kids waiting for the school bus. I get back home and see that my apple trees have lots of ripe apples. Just feeling very fortunate. I hope everyone has a great day today too.
